      questions on pre ld actions

Will having light music on help with an ld or have someone lightly call your name while you sleep?

Only if you practise doing RC's to the music, then maybe you will hear it in your dream. This technique is called Eild EILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Sound is pretty touch and go when it comes to lucid dreaming or sleep in general. If the sound is too quiet, you won't hear it. If the sound is too loud, it'll wake you up. However it's worth a shot and if you can set it up so that it starts after you fall asleep it shouldn't inhibit you falling asleep. Besides, it can't hurt . A pretty common thing to do, sound related, is listen to binaural beats which affect your brain waves in a way that is beneficial to lucid dreaming and sleep overall. While not as direct as having an mp3 player saying your name while sleeping or telling you to become lucid it does seem to do more by affecting you while you're awake and then continuing to do so while you fall asleep and further into your dreams.

However an idea that popped into my head just now is to record a mantra for MILD on your iPod (or whatever you're using) and keep it on replay while you fall asleep. Then not only do you have the conscious telling yourself that you will have a LD tonight (or whatever your mantra is) but you also have an outside influence to further add to the auto-suggestion. Just a thought

Edit: Derp, it's called EILD xD

Thanks for the information. Last night my sister called my name while I was asleep and I became fully for about 15 seconds then she called louder and it pulled me out. Im just trying to find that middle ground where its just enough to "awaken" me
