Question How do you figure out your REM times

      Hello everyone

I sleep at really random times every night, one night i might go to sleep at 11, the next at 2am, I was wondering how you figure out when you will be in the state of REM, so I can wake up near the end of it, so I can calculate it every night based on when I go to sleep? Thanks guys

The thing is, with your sleep schedule, you can't. One of the best ways to increase your chances of lucidity is to have a good sleeping schedule in general. Going to bed at different times every night isn't good.

I'd highly suggest choosing a bed time and waking up time and stick to those every day, including weekends.

The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary.

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream.
Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.

It's usually estimated at every 1.5 hours from the time you fall asleep, regardless of when that is.

Although I'm told being more or less regular with your sleep is quite helpful.

Try to wake up after every dream and write down the time. You should naturally wake for a second or two after every REM cycle. Train yourself to notice these awakenings. Do this for a few days, and see if you can figure out the pattern.

Would you train yourself to do that through auto-suggestion and mantra's and that sort of thing?

My last five dreams were logged at 12:30, 9:40, 03:30, 11:20 and 22:40. All on different days.

There are no clear times, but you're most likely to dream at the middle and end of your sleep, or during a nap.
