      Cool Weird dream last night

So the past few days I've been fairly tired and mildly delirious since I've been staying up late and not getting enough sleep.

Anyway, last night I was having a dream where I was walking down the road and a car stops near me and the guy starts talking to me as if we were old friends. After a while I realized that his window was closed and I never met the guy, so I must be dreaming.

Next thing I know I'm free falling in the clouds and not complaining because it felt nice, then I was able to partially control myself. After that it was random, I was aware that I was dreaming, but nothing more than that.

So then I woke up, and scribbled what happened in my dream journal (I don't see the point sometimes in having one, as my writing is almost always illegible when I'm barely awake.), then went back to sleep.

This really sparked my interest in lucid dreaming, it's something I looked into way back when, but never really got heavily into it.

So if anyone has tips and whatnot, I'd really appreciate that. Also, is there a way to be able to write a dream journal, then read it in the morning without deciphering my own handwriting? And finally, could this lucid dream be the result of delirium? I tend to notice having more vivid dreams when I either force myself into that state, or don't get much sleep because of college.

      Thanks a bunch!

The best thing I could advise, is to read around this website, especially the tutorials that have been made. They can give you much more info then I can fit into one reply!

The lucid dream was probably a result of REM rebound due to not sleeping, but its hard to tell.

Also, do you mean your handwriting is that bad you can't read it the next morning? Perhaps get a voice recorder and talk to it instead of writing.

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

I was going to reply nearly everything that was said in the above post.

We have some tutorials in our WIKI section: Wiki - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Try reading over the DV Tutorials so you get an idea of what we're doing around here. They will give you some of the basics and tired methods for inducing lucid dreams.

Whether you use a voice recorder or a dream journal try writing down keywords or phrases, not the whole dream or too much detail. Reading the keywords later should stimulate the memory and you can add details.

If you have more questions feel free to post them!
