I am not remembering dreams 2 days now. Maybe because of stress. |

Last night I got 9 hours of sleep and meditated before bed and did everything that I was supposed to and still cant remember a single dream... Very upset right now. Here are some of the things I think could have effected it but I don't know. Before yesterday I used to smoke weed everyday, I heard that THC impairs Rem sleep but I didn't smoke yesterday, last time i smoked was the day before (I quit now). Also last night I fell asleep with my contacts in, could this be the problem? I don't know but its very frustrating to have like no dreams. |

Ok, are you keeping a dream journal. Dream journals are essential for lucid dreaming. If you don't have one, you probably won't have good dream recall unless you have a great memory. On top of that, you can try to not move or open your eyes once you wake up, and only concentrate on trying to remember all the dreams you had the past night. If you still can't remember anything, try thinking about everything you did the past day before you went to end. Usually dreams incorporate things you did and thought about from the day before. As a final note, do NOT get frustrated over not recalling your dreams. Frustration and anxiety are dream recall killers. Wake up in a calm and pleasant mood, which will aid in your dream recall. |

There really is no way to know exactly what causes that, but I've realized that when I go to bed feeling too sleepy and/or tired, I can't seem to remember any dreams at all (and usually I have pretty awesome recall). |

I thinkthe reason why we don't remember dreams is because we were not aware enough while dreaming to even remember them in the first place. This applies to waking life as well. If you are not aware during some even happening in waking life then the less detailed you remember. Anyway what could be affecting your recall? Is your sleep schedule consistent? If you aren't going to bed at the same time each night that could affect your dream recall. Are you doing something that is just totally exhausting you during the day? If your mind is TOO tired then it wouldn't be aware enough to even remember the dream. It could just be a simple dry spell too but lets not assume this yet. Also try reading past dream journal entries you made. It could re-trigger that dreaming recall mojo you lost as well. Final tip is don't let this frustrate you, I've had this problem before. |

I agree with the others. You just quit smoking right? Maybe your body needs a bit of time to adjust to the change? In any case, don't worry about it. As what jblb said, the more you think about it, the more it will troll you. So just relax and let it go, and know that you will remember them soon. |
