I only tell kids. They're usually incredibly receptive and think it's amazingly cool. Adults, I don't bother, unless I've had a lot to drink and it's someone who's just sort of an acquaintance, and they've also had a lot to drink, so there's plausible deniability involved |

So weird. Everyone in my family doesnt even care about it at all. I guess they never feel the joy of getting a lucid dream. Too bad. |

One thing that I find pretty funny is that some people can even show occasional fascination about dreams in general, and still don't want to listen to topics about lucid dreaming. |

I think the issue is the amount of work involved to have lucid dreams. Anyone who experiences one will find it find it awesome but to experience it again takes too much work to keep their interest. |
|
i dont even get to explain any of the "work" involved, before people turn a deaf ear on me.... |
|
on break...
I haven't told too many people but I'm totally an open book and share things I'm interested in with people if I talk to them for any length. Most people don't really seem to care. Anyone who is close to me though is going to have to listen to it though lol because I want to talk about it. |
|
I found this too. Most of my friends just like to see sleep as some time where you blackout, my little sister (11 years old) on the other hand, seems quite interested in dreaming. Always trying to remember her dreams and telling them, the bad thing is that I'm the only one who is actually interested in that. Since I now wish someone had taught me how to lucid dream at that age, I'll try to see if I can teach her some techniques. |
|
I've told my best friend and my family, my grandma thought it was really awesome, my best friend thought it was a waste of time and ended up changing the subject every time i mention it. (Even during big accomplishments like me learning to fly for the first time) My parents aren't really interested and my sister is completely against me even saying the word. All the little kids I told were so excited and interested that they didn't want me to stop talking about it. |
|
One friend of mine really enjoys it. everyone else goes along with it or doesnt say much and probably thinks to themselves "theres no way, he might be crazy but ill pretend hes not." |

I actually kind of like the possibility that other people would think I am crazy. |

I am writing down my dreams and techniques on facebook (copy paste from Word). There are 186 "friends". My posts about LD-s have 1 or max. 2 likes. And nobody is asking anything. wow... |

People where I live will think you're knee deep in witchcraft if you tell them, lol. |

When I first heard of it I thought it was fake, still seems odd to me now! |

Facebook is made to share information *friends*. If they don't want to listen, don't you think is better to stop? |

Argh, this drives me crazy! |

I am gonna try and bring up this topic to one of my classmates next week, he seems like a fairly curious person in general, so there could possibly be a chance that he might pay some sort of attention if I am lucky. |

A while ago I actually posted on Facebook that I felt very fascinated about a lucid dream I have had recently, and that I thought it was amazing how everything could feel so utterly realistic, and I was hoping that I would at least get some kind of reaction, or even skepticism and concern about my mental health or whatever - anything, so that I would have an excuse to start a conversation with one of them about this. |
