      Looking for tips

      No, not those tips

I've been dream journaling for a over a year and have had 25+ dreams that by basic definition are lucid. Only 3 maybe were that uphoria. How do I get more of the good ones I guess is my question. I've done the WILD attempts several times. VERY hard. MILD too. I do the RC, but feel a little uneasy about constently questioning reality. I dunno... any thoughts?

First off, what makes you uneasy about questioning reality? By nature you should question everything. Constantly questioning if you are Dreaming and awake not only serves to boost your Lucid Dreams, but it also can help you become more aware in Waking life as well. What do you consider "good ones"?

"Good ones" Would be when I remember to RC, stabilize when the dream is about to collapse and last as long as 5-10 mintues instead of 5-10 seconds.

Sometimes I'm not very "alert" in reality. Yesterday I foucesed on sound when I RCed and it worked this morning, I became lucid. I've noticed I don't have a lot of noise in my dreams.

I would still like to know what makes you uneasy about questioning reality. Shouldn't the fact that Dreams can feel just as real as Waking life make you question the very nature of reality?

When I started lucid dreaming it was with WILD, and the first time I did it when I went through and realized I was in a dream? I looked at my hands. Right in front of my face...maybe six to eight inches or so. It worked well and when I started losing the dream I'd do it again. It always grounded me and became my check. Then I noticed i was doing the same thing when I was awake. Just here and there throughout the day. I'd had many WILDs before I ever had a lucid dream stem from an actual dream, but I know it started that first time because in my dream I did the same thing with my hands...then it just sort of went lucid. Not to the same degree as a WILD, but it was definitely an instant switch to lucidity and I had some degree of control. Just making it a habit to bring my hands up during the day to study them for a few seconds seemed to make it into a trigger for me. You know how...at least for me...you get the feeling in a dream that you know you're dreaming but it isn't necessarily lucid? I'd always look at my hands somehow and it would switch over. I think it was the simple act of knowing I could make the choice to do it if I wanted to that did it. I didn't have to do anything special when i was awake to accomplish this. Looking at my hands when I thought of it during the day (and associating it with being lucid) just became a habit that transferred over when I was dreaming and brought me around to lucidity. It worked very well.

Sometimes I feel disassociated from people or places. I just sort of go through the motions of whatever is in the day. It feels like a fog.

Someone on here told me that feeling is still a "lucid" dream.

You need to find a way to increase your motivation and really look forward to getting lucid, believing in yourself and knowing you can do it. I found that daydreaming alot, kinda like ADA and doing spontaneous aswell as regular RC's during the day, MILD before bed and WBTB's was a great combo. Don't overdo the WBTB though, I didn't do it more than once or twice a week to make sure it retained its "special status."

WBTB according to this site isn't a technique, it's just you waking up during the night to either do a WILD or MILD w/ WILD. Maybe my understanding is flawed, but I'd have to wake up...
