Practical uses of Lucid Dreaming

When I first heard of lucid dreaming, got into it, and saw all the work to be put into it, I thought "all this work just for fun?" Even though I was entirely comfortable with doing all that work simply for fun, it still seemed there had to be some practical uses for lucid dreaming. I am aware there are many more threads on this subject, but I wanted to make a thread with just a simple list of all the known actual uses. So here is a short list a few uses. I'd like this list to be exhaustive, so please, by all means mention others (add your references). Also I did not put any descriptions, only links, to keep it clean and easy to read. 1. Is it possible to practise, singing or something, in dreams? Considering it's your voice. Does your voice change much in dreams?

But usually if I practice something inside the dream, lets say Singing, the sound that comes out will usually be much nicer than reality...it will be more like how I want it to sound like. But mostly, before I even open my mouth and sing, the sound/song will be automatically 'played out' (with my voice) when I just think of the song, so there's no need for me to sing it (verbally) lol. xD That's my situation.

I used to have an awful fear of spiders. I used lucid dreams to help me overcome the fear (e.g. getting close to spiders in dreams, picking them up). It worked quite well. So, helping to overcome fears/phobias maybe?

Yeah... I'm not sure about things that your mind can easily change, such as singing. In a musical regard, I'd say the only thing would be to compose music. But I think practicing just the general idea of a song on piano (such as pressing the right keys) might work. I've played piano in a dream before and I think it would work. Singing though, I'm not sure. Anything's possible though. I used to have an awful fear of spiders. And my case goes the same for playing the piano. . My fingers will move in a manner that I cannot achieve in reality (in playing songs that I hoped to be able to), or make songs that I can already play sound much nicer. However, I think I would be nice practicing these stuffs (with skill level not altered) in dreams, then the results of practice will most likely stay when waking up (won't be a waste of time).

Yeah, lucid dreaming can be used for so much more than just entertainment. Alice in Wonderland was inspired by a lucid dream. Many famous artwork, books, and music were created because of lucid dreaming. It can be used to enhance and practice different skill sets and help you overcome fears/addiction.
