From what I can see you are quite pessimistic, "rubbish dream recall" "apart from one that i remembered so little of im not even counting it as a proven lucid dream" "i cant do DIELD because i an a very deep sleeper"

Firstly you have to be enthusiastic, secondly you have to have patience and regard it as a hobby. If your growing annoyed because you aint getting a Lucid within 1.5 months then you are probably only doing yourself harm being stressed by it.
As for the Mild I can't help much, it just doesn't work for some people. It could be related to a bad sleep cycle or stress etc

Now for your lame excuse on Deild, you do realise that Deild is all about training yourself to wake up at night. How about instead of Mild you still wake up but tell yourself that you will wake up from your dream. It may be harsh but the truth is that all techniques can take loads of practise depending on yourself, I like to tell myself that everytime I don't get a lucid dream I did not fail, I progressed, the more that goes wrong the easier it is to identify.

How about you try out Deild for a month, if you need some questions answered PM me or visit my Deild guide.

I try to go to bed at a set time each night where I try to not focus on distracting thoughts from the (earlier) day. Some people find meditation or flicking through their dream journal helps motivate them for the night ahead.
Personally my favourite is WBTB, although it is not a 'technique' as such. I usually have between 5 -6.5 hours sleep beforehand, either waking up via an alarm or naturally.
I usually stay up from anything between 15 to 45 min depending on how I feel. I try to motivate myself by thinking about lucid dreaming in general, or what I will do when I have one, before retiring back to bed after a stretch.
Most of my LD's are the result of DILD's, as I'm targeting the late morning periods where the REM is longest and where your recall is often a little better, which increases a better chance of an LD.
I agree, LD is frustrating and a lot of hard work. I don't really like keeping a DJ myself as I find it a bit of a chore. However some days I feel too groggy to fill an entry in, but this affects my recall, so I try and at least put some form of entry into it every night otherwise I know my recall, motivation and lucid quality suffers.

      Regards and good luck.

I would recommend you add daytime awareness training to your practice. WILD class Awareness article. Re-read some tutorials about RCs to make sure, you are using emotions while RCing. Maybe make up some new matras that resonate with you better. Use mantras in present tense, not future.

And this approach is the best you can have - take failiure as a lesson, each one brings you closer to success.

And you should be happy about your success - the one you barely count. Be happy and thankfull for it and enthusiastic. You have to pump yourself up and believe in yourself. Enthusiasm, intent and awareness are very important. Keep at it and you will be lucid.
