      Question Reality Check Side Effect

Obviously, being that I want to experience lucid dreams, I do reality checks and just remain aware for as much of the day as I can. However, I have noticed a side effect. Because of my questioning of reality, and knowledge of lucid dreaming, I have sometimes experienced something so out of the ordinary that I wonder if I am awake, even though I am. It leads to major amounts of confusion.
Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just special?

Sometimes when really weird things happens I really question reality seriously. If you really think you might be in a dream more or less frequently, it means you are usually more aware than most people during day and dreams. That's good

Well YES, if something weird in real life occurs you are SUPPOSED to think you might be dreaming. Thats the best type of reality check. If you RC and dont avtually think you may be dreaming, it isnt a serious RC. Am I missing something?

Yeah, I have heard of that happening to a few people. You aren't "special" . That's the point of a reality check, though! When you see something strange, do one and figure out if you are in reality or in a dream. Just means it is working

      Exactly what they said ^^

You're gaining more awareness of your surroundings. Hopefully that can help you tons when you are actually dreaming, keep it up

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks, I actually had a friend who had the same experience today, but I will still consider myself special anyway!

Sounds like your awareness is expanding enough to see the dream nature of our reality. That is the teaching of Buddhism after all, life is but a dream. Welcome to the Matrix, you did choose the red pill after all.
