MISHLOVE: It seems to me as if your concept of ECCO is a way of modeling a mechanism behind what Jung has defined as synchronocity.

LILLY: That's right. Jung defined synchronicity only in a good fashion in his introduction to the I Ching, and he uses the term coincidences.

MISHLOVE: Meaningful coincidences.

LILLY: But of course the coincidences are in your own construction, your own language construction of the events. So that's all a fake too. As I say at the beginning of my workshops, "Everything I say here is a lie -- bullshit, in other words -- because anything that you put in words is not experience, is not the experiment. It's a representation -- a misrepresentation."

MISHLOVE: And here we are misrepresenting to each other in order that we can learn from these lies.

LILLY: Right. Now if you use language injunctively, as a set of directions, then it's not as bad as it is otherwise.

MISHLOVE: So in other words, for example, when you talk about ECCO, when you talk about perhaps going into an inner reality using sensory isolation, which is one of the other technologies in which you pioneered --

LILLY: In 1954, I invented it.

MISHLOVE: Or using a number of different molecules which can be used for this purpose, or mystical disciplines -- when one enters into these realities, each set of instructions carries with it usually a belief system.

LILLY: Right.

MISHLOVE: And basically what you're saying is that all of these belief systems are wrong, but one needs to entertain or to hold the belief system in order to follow through the instructions.

LILLY: That's right. Our brains are so small we have to do this.

MISHLOVE: So the belief system itself becomes a tool that we work with, and then eventually we have to let go of.

LILLY: Right.

MISHLOVE: And using these belief systems, you've been able to in effect map out the inner terrain of inner space in a manner which has as rich and varied flora and fauna and geography as one would find on any continent, perhaps richer.

I believe it is just a phase you are going through. Where everything seems more rich and vivid. I have had things like this happen before. It will mostly likely go away soon.

This is a VERY, VERY small possibility, but one of the symptoms of a brain tumor is heightened awareness, especially in vision and sound. Has you vision changed? I recommend looking up all the symptoms of a brain tumor and seeing if you have them. I don't mean to alarm you, there is a very small chance this is not the case. I am just paranoid.

Anyway I recommend waiting a few more weeks and seeing if anything changed before jumping to conclusions. Best of luck

So, unles it bothers you, I would just enjoy it, while it lasts.

It bothered me the first day but after a good nights sleep, albeit dreamless, I got used to it.

Today though... Wow... just wow.

I have, much like the first day, seem another level of "more", as you put it, but this time almost everything is beautiful. It inspires joy within me. I can look at something and actually say "That is beautiful." That is something I have NEVER been able to say honestly.

I was on a train and between a single stop I noticed the "new" colours of everything outside. Trees, plants, cars, bridges, fields...Everything.
The detail is amazing, it is even "more" than what is was before.

An interesting note is that it is ONLY visual.

Also I am seeing alot of purple in things that aren't purple. If this is heightened awareness than it may be ultra-violet light.

Now, I truly believe I am becoming enlightened to something...I don't know what yet. But I am happy if it is just me and my senses.

I would be stoked if it is the first steps to the universe (which I am currently trying to achieve).

It is into its second or third week now...I am having MASSIVE problems with long term time tracking. With all the new stuff I am researching and practicing, my problem has gotten worse with tracking time mentally...And I hate calenders!

Well my second day of beauty is still just as beautiful.


Purple and pink.
I see them in everything now, more purple than pink though.

If this is just hyper awareness than I may be seeing more than/of the visible spectrum since violet and red are at either end.


I am also seeing white as a colour not a shade...It is hard to explain.

When I look toward the sun I get glare. Just as normal.
Usually this is an effect added to the colours it blocks out. That is the sun overpowers the colours around it making them appear "whited out"

Now I can see the white of the glare rays as a flat bit of colour. Stuck between me and the world as if glued to my eyes.

The glare still over powers the other colours, much like walking into a dark room after being outside. But it isn't the same as before, not exactly anyway.

None the less I am now very happy with life. I can enjoy seeing grass... Now to watch paint
