hi i am new to this site but i had a question how many people are natural lucid dreamers and how common is it? |
|
I have been since I was a child, usually one or two a week, but they have increased since I came here. I've never tried any of the techniques to induce them. |

At first I had to put a lot of effort into it, but I have become lucid in dreams without reality checking or anything. I usually become lucid 4-5 times per week, whether on purpose or on accident. My roommate claims he doesn't dream a lot, but when he does he is always lucid. I'm not sure how that works.. but I think it can be pretty common. |

The sailor does not control the sea, nor does the lucid dreamer control the dream. Like a sailor, lucid dreamers manipulate or direct themselves in the larger expanse of dreaming; however, they do not control it. Lucid dreaming appears to be a co-created experience. ~Robert Waggoner

Actually they're not that common. Most adults don't dream much, and those who do rarely have any lucids. I've asked loads of people and only a few claim to have known they've been dreaming a couple of times in their lives. Pure naturals who gets lucid several times a week are rather rare. |

We may not all be naturals, but that doesn't mean that we can't learn to do it naturally and beyond. |

Hi Genova, I'm also a natural lucid dreamer and have been since a child. I didn't realise what was going on untill about 6 years ago. I searched the web because I had some scary stuff happening and found out it was good old SP lol, my SP only started about 6 years ago although I've been having lucids all my life. Nothing happened to spark my SP off, although something does usually bring it on. Well if you want to know anything more, please PM me. |

I actually just created a post ("Great relief was felt today" under this discussion board), but unfortunately I am not a natural lucid dreamer. I haven't even had my first one yet. BUT my best friend of 10 years is and I just found this out last night. She says that she has also been doing it since she was a kid and has stopped a few night terrors. She is one of the rare ones where she does have lucid dreams more often than not and can WILD very easily. |

Being a natural lucid dreamer doesn't necessarily mean you are lucid almost every night. I am a natural LDer, but my lucids are very sporadic if I am not devoting any effort to it. I remember my first lucid dream when I was eight. I don't think anything special happened to cause it, I just realized that I was dreaming inside my dream, and as it kept happening, also realized I could control my dreams are use them for self discovery. It wasn't until much later that I had a word for it. I have gone as long as a year without a lucid dream, but I will usually get them anywhere from about twice a month to once every couple without any effort. With effort, it is about once or twice a week. |

I have always Lucid Dreamed every night without exception for as long as I can remember and assumed everyone did too until the age of 7 or 8 yrs old. It sounds like many of those who lucid dreamed at a young age were triggered by nightmares but I would have to say that the only time I can recall having nightmares was 5 times. Once around age 12-13 and a reoccuring nightmare that happened several times over the span of 5 months at a much younger age. These two distinct dreams were scary because I was not able to actively change the dream though they were lucid. I was only able to observe... |
