Thread: Weirdest Tip off that You Were Dreaming?

When I was a young child, I dreamed of being in my room at night and suddenly there was this blurred Portal and a young Arab boy on a flying carpet who streched out his hand towards me and asked if I wanted to come with him on an Adventure. I was immediately aware of that it was a dream. Not that strange or weird, but til day the strangest thing that made me realize that I am dreaming. Hope this will change soon.

I was so mad about dream events that I became lucid.

I literally asked her, with a full awareness for once,

"Am I dreaming?" She holds the office phone, which is vanilla colored, to her chest, and does a nod.

Yeah, it was that simple, and that's what was really weird, I usually just shrug responses like that from dream characters. I was getting into the stage of becoming lucid, and her actually nodding and not saying something else random like "fish cakes43" just made me lucid.

I normally just am lucid at the beggining of a dream. Only a few times I have become lucid because of noticing odd things.

My sisters face started morphing into something not human. Since it was a FA i was actually getting ready to RC anyway.

Quite same there, i am doing RC as soon i am in WILD/FA, though once i noticed my electronic clock teleporting around the room right before i did RC, guess that's weirdest for me .

Me and my mates were sitting at a table in the bush, my old friend had a clone and when I tried to point it out to anyone they all sort of ignored me. I thought it was weird but the clone came back and sat with all of us. I was trying to work out what was going on and all my friends were looking at me as if to say 'figure it out already'. I then realized it was a dream. In fact this was one of the first times I became fairly well Lucid.

I looked down at my hand and it was a robot's hand

I had an enormous plastic fork taped to both of my hands. Haha. Just remembered that. I couldn't feel it, I just knew it was there.

Also what is always weird is when you have a FA and try and WILD. You can get some weird scene changes.

It's normally not weird stuff, but the guy poking his head into an oven looking for something was a bit odd.

Huh...maybe the strange things are just normal for me. I usually dream in storyline, and usually I find some sort of explanation for what's going on.

In one dream a friend and I teleported out of the car and into a diner and then we turned entirely blue. She didn't seem to think it was strange and refused to acknowledge my questions on the subject.
"Why are we blue?"
"I don't know what you mean."
"We.Are.Entirely.Blue."
"..........I don't know what you mean."
"I'm dreaming."
"and you're crazy. Apparently."

I have seen a dream of my own death that made me realize that I was dreaming.

Last night I was writing something in a notebook and I would look away for a second and see a different word than what I had written. That triggered it pretty fast. I was lucid and deciding what I wanted to do when my wife turned on the light in the bedroom and woke me up with a start. I was a bit disappointed.

A dream character came up to me and told me I was dreaming. I didn't believe him but he told me it was winter in the real world, and it was the middle of summer now.

I was on an airplane, and I was about to go to sleep. My sleeping mask, which was actually that REM Mask Light Thing told me that it's going to flash a light and when it does, thats a signal that I'm dreaming. So I was like. "Uh...okay?" And then it flashed a light at me, and voila I'm lucid.

There was a giant oddly coloured snail on my kitchen window I got it off and wanted to put it outside when I opened the door and saw it had been snowing I realist it was a dream!
The alien snail didn't set me of, it was the snow that made me question my dream!

Often with me it's little things that will trigger it as well. Just something will be a little off, but other times I will be doing crazy stuff like flying all over or walking on the ceiling and it won't happen.

ok this happened last night...
I'm in a crowded building and i see a couple, I stare at the girl and said to myself " holy shitt she's hot, this must be a dream"
and wallaaa

I saw my family.

"ZOMG I'M DREAMING! LOLOLOLOLO"

Though it might have been because one of my dead family members was there.

Last night I had two and neither time was there anything at all to trigger it. One I was in a building and it was time to leave, so I walked out to go to my car and as I was walking toward the parking lot I just stopped walking and said out loud, "Hey, this is a dream." Then I realized that I really had no need to go to get the car, but I woke up shortly after. Then later in the night, probably 2 or 3 dreams later I was walking outside and met a guy from my church and I just looked at him and said, "This is a dream and you're just in my head."

There was no trigger at all in either one. The second time I knew it was my second of the night and that knowledge just made me laugh. Unfortunately I woke up from both of these pretty quickly, so I didn't really have any time to do anything. I think I was at the end of REM cycles both times, so I was about to wake up anyway, which might account for the increased awareness without any obvious triggers.
