Almost had a DEILD, any suggestions?

So I got the closest to a lucid dream last night since I've started really training and learning about LD about a month ago. I went to bed reading about SilverBullet's Newly Revised Key to Lucid Dreaming and that may have been what helped get me close? Not sure. But I've been reading a lot the past few weeks about DILD, WILD, SSILD, MILD, and even a few others, but DEILD seemed liked the easiest since for some reason I'm not having success with DILD even though I frequently do reality checks IWL and keep a dream journal and read through some dreams before bed...

Anyways, I'll cut to the chase. I have an app that plays a recording of myself speaking while I'm dreaming to induce a LD and inspire me to do a RC in my dream, but I had it play too loud and it snapped me out of my dream last night. But I didn't move at all and I was able to become conscious/aware and remembered to attempt a DEILD. So as I lay there I started to relive my previous dream a little, but got to the end of it so I ended up just picturing myself on a ship in the middle of the ocean. I tried to imagine myself touching the various wooden objects, the wooden ropes and how they felt in real life. I tried to imagine wind going by and the smell of the salty sea air. I kept this up and eventually I felt my body get real heavy and the darkness of my eyelids got far darker than it previously was. I felt the heaviest in my feet and then I started seeing flashes of light. I knew I wasn't supposed to get excited at this feeling and keep focusing on my imagined dream so I attempted to do so and just keep picturing this ship on the ocean. Despite that, my heart started beating extremely fast. Possibly just due to this being the closest to lucid dreaming I just couldn't keep my body from getting excited, I'm not sure. Another sensation I felt was that gravity was tilting. I started to feel like I was going to roll off my bed due to gravity slowly rotating.

But in the end my heart was beating too fast and I couldn't enter a dream, thus I ended up moving, so I sat up, drank some water, did some research, and later tried a WILD which I have no idea where that went. Any suggestions? Should I have tried to keep with the DEILD? What can I do to lower my heart rate? Also sorry for the unnecessarily long post, I just like to give as much detail as possible!

C'mon guys, help a fellow lucid dreamer out!

Has anyone else experienced the gravity tilting sensation while initiating a DEILD?

That is almost my experience exactly!
A few nights ago I came so close to DEILD, but my heart was beating so fast. I think it was because I was nervous about SP and I was so close. But just tonight, I had my first successful DEILD! I think the reason I wasn't as nervous is because I was a little out of it. But I found that there is nothing to be nervous about because SP when doing DEILD is only vibrations. I had No hallucinations.
And no, I haven't experienced the tilting sensation you describe.

Interesting! Congrats on the DEILD, maybe it just took one experience to get those initial jitters out of the way. Hopefully I'll have a successful one soon!

I hope so, good luck! Be sure to tell me anything that helped you, as I am still practicing DEILD.

Good job. You just need to make surebyou are out of it enough to not have your heart beat like that. You don't want to notice when you are getting ready to go into a dream. You want to notice as soon as you enter a dream. Congrats on the progress though. I would say that you need to either try it at a different time in the night, or practice not concentrating on the things around you. Also practice calming yourself. Meditation can help both of those things. When I meditate I don't try and "lose track of myself" I just sit there and visualize and eventually I am extremely caught up in what I am visualizing. It is clearing my mind and thinking solely about LDs. I normally imagine the beginning of the lucid, but for you you might want to visualize waking up and visualize the getting excited, then calm yourself. Good luck.

Awesome, that's some great advice. I'll be sure to try it out next time! Thanks
