How would one go about decreasing their fear of spiders through lucid dreaming? |

I kinda have this exact same problem. But if I stood on it, I wouldn't even look at it or go near it even if it was dead. I even have nightmares about it which is ridiculous because there's no reason to be scared of them. Even the other night I woke up kicking and hitting myself because in the dream spiders were being poured on me, and I started hitting myself to get rid of them, then woke myself up by actually doing the actions. |

I know what you mean benzilla04, I'm horrified of spiders. I never wanted to confront my fear of spiders like you do though because that would surely mean exposure to spiders and I simply rather just avoid them at all imaginable costs. I regularly spray my room with bug repellent and put tea tree oil on my body every night because one time a spider bit my butt cheek in my sleep those little evil perverts keep away from tea tree oil. Man and in California there's big ugly tarantulas and wolf spiders and black widows and brown recluses just walking about the drive way like they contributed to any of the city's building structures or pay taxes, why don't they just go with the squashes jeez. One time there was a spider in my room, the nerve! and I had to kill it but I didn't want to get close because it was a jumping spider so I grabbed some hairspray and then I sprayed the spider and I kid you not the little fucker chased me across my carpet and my sister came in and killed it for me and I cried for ten minutes after it was dead. |

I was thinking of having hypnosis first so Im not as scared and then dealing with it normally but using lucid dreams is the easy way out. |

I've never had a fear of them in real life, but every time I see them in dreams they're always huge, hairy, and make enormous webs, and they freak me out big time. I see real ones when I'm awake and I don't think anything of it. In my dreams they're the size of cantaloupes. Sometimes it will be a sign, but most of the time I don't go lucid for some reason and I just have to deal with them. |
