      Control in non lucid

I had a dream last night where I was exhibiting a fair amount of control, but never did I realize that I was dreaming. I would need something and just will it to appear and it would. I was standing in front of a locker at the gym and realized that I didn't have gym shoes, so I closed the locker door and told myself that when I opened it up the shoes would be there and they were. Throughout the entire dream I was changing things at will, but to the best of my knowledge I wasn't lucid because I had no recollection of the waking world and never thought about TOTM or anything like that. It had all the hallmarks of a lucid without the actual lucid part. Then two other dreams I had during the night were very similar and finally I became lucid for about a minute right before waking up. Anyone else ever have that level of control without being lucid?

In non-lucid dreams I have some kind of control, in the way that if something I don't like happens, something changes and the dream goes on more pleasantly. For example, I really fucking hate bugs, and in a dream someone had a collection of butterflies, I wished he would take them apart from me, and he hid them under a bed and I never saw them again during the dream. In other dream, I lost a train, and a few seconds after another train arrived and took me to my destination. But I have never changed something by will, it's more like my dream detects if I don't like something and changes it without me doing or noticing anything.

Man, that's the same thing I have in my non-lucids. But only since I'm LDing. It's like my subconscience knows I don't like it and remembers my thoughts that I can do anything in a dream and it "thinks it" for me before "I" can think it.

Like there was an animal I really don't like underneath some furniture getting closer to me and my mind just thought "no, that's not it, it's something else". And when that animal came to view, it morphed into something cute. I remember being surprised and strangely empowered, as if I had an ally, a guardian on my side helping me out.

Another time, there was something scary and I "decided" to throw a sleeping granade at it. Never made a decision before in a non lucid. That dream turned into LD in a few minutes after that.

Is it possible, that those dreams would turn into LD if they lasted longer?

I don't know, at least none of those dreams turned into an LD for me. In those dreams, I don't even think anything at all, even before I can think something about it my dream makes the decision for me xD. However, if I inconsciusly made a really big change, I suppose I would notice it and maybe realize I'm dreaming.

Interesting: I've had a couple of these kind of dreams from way back, long before I ever heard of lucid dreaming. I wonder if they are likely to increase now I'm starting to take dreams more seriously? And I wonder if I can start turning them into lucid dreams when I next have one ...

This normally happens to me with the ability to fly. I am clearly defying gravity, yet I don't even find it very unusual.

It's like my subconscience knows I don't like it and remembers my thoughts that I can do anything in a dream and it "thinks it" for me before "I" can think it.
That makes a lot of sense. I'd never thought of it like that. Maybe our subconscious always knows when we're dreaming, even when we aren't consciously aware of it. If only we could find a way to tap into this on a regular basis...

I often have some kind of power/control in non-lucid dreams, even have dreams with transformation once in a while, and my dream self don't finds it unusual enough to do an reality check, though in my case it's because i often busy with video games in waking life so in many of my dreams my dream self just goes into 'game mode' of some kind.

Something similar happens to me, when I get addicted to a game in particular I start having dreams in which I am doing the things of the game, or I am playing that game, or things from that game appear out of the blue. For example, two nights ago, I saw in at least 2 dreams Little Sisters from Bioshock 2 gathering ADAM, but the dreams didn't have anything to do with the game.
