Is there a way to know how far i am to get a lucid dream?

You guys must be already upset answering on my repetitive questions.
But i've been trying to LD over a month now and just saw a little progress yet.
all i got was 3 False Lucid Dreams, and my dream recall just improved a bit.
But everytime i go to bed i wonder how much longer will it take untill i get a lucid dream.
Everytime i wake up hoping i'm in a LD, i do a reality check and i'm not dreaming.
And i get unmotivated and frustrated. I know you all will tell me to don't discourage
per more times i'll fail to get a LD, but i don't think i can. Not unless i know how far
i am to get an LD.

Yup, veeery upset. Haha, just kidding, of course. No problem at all, we understand, that everybody wants to know things. And we approve of that.

3 false lucids is a great progress. It means, that your thinking about lucid dreaming has made it to your dreams. Dream recall improvement is great thing and very important.

Wondering if you will have LD - you have to stop that. That is telling your mind, that you are pretty much ok with the way things are now. You not telling your mind, what you want. You have to be thinking "tonight I have LD". You have to know it, as if it was as certain as you going to school in the morning.

Keep doing RCs. They will pay off. But make sure you put emotions into that. Do you wanna describe how exactly you practice, what your mantra is...?

You can also compare what you do with this article and see, if you could add something or change something. Collection of techniques for DILD.

I'm really new at this too (6 months), so I know how easy it is to get discouraged. I had nothing for the first 4 months (though my dream recall improved, and keeping a journal and analysing my dreams was good in itself - don't knock even just normal dreams).

But after switching methods (from DILD to WBTB and WILD) then I got a flurry of events: proper LDs, weird sleep-paralysis night terrors and imagery, a really odd partial out-of-body, all of kinds of cool stuff. Not loads, and not e every night, but enough for me to renew my enthusiasm!

After that I went blank again for a few weeks, until this week where I've had a couple more interesting events. Sporadic, but still moving

The only advice I can offer is to keep going and stay positive. How close are you to a LD? Closer than you were a few months ago, and getting closer every night . It may be tonight you have a great LD!

I keep saying to myself "When i dream i will be consciousness that i am dreaming" <-- my mantra

About putting emotions on RCs i'm not sure how i do that. What i try to do is, doing a RC everytime i see my dreamsign on real life.
so i can make a RC too when i see my dream sign on my dream. (This probably lead me to have false lucid dreams)

Check the Collection... article I linked above. There is about emotions in RCs and in awareness question. I would suggest to add that awareness question to your practice.

What a great way to put it. Excellent!

And yes, you could always try for a WILD, just to see how it goes. But don't give up on DILD practice either

Don't get discouraged! Everyone is different and will go at their own speed. The fact that you've had false lucids definitely points toward progress. Just don't stress over it so much. Thinking about lucid dreaming helps, but overly stressing about it can actually hinder your progress. When I first got into LDing, I'd stress and obsess over it so much that it actually messed up my sleep and my recall. Then I'd take a break and suddenly--- Lucid! Just continue with whatever techniques you're doing, but go with the flow and don't worry about whether you become lucid. Enjoy your non-lucids just as much.

One tip regarding your mantra: I've read that using future tense for such things is a bad idea, as your subconscious may interpret it as being anywhere in the distant future rather than immediately. It's believed that using present tense works far better. For instance, something along the lines of "I am in a dream. I am aware that I'm dreaming."

      Good luck!
