Very able to LD, but still a little trouble...

Well, back in July when I joined here I knew almost nothing about LD's, and I had only had a few before, and even that was a long time ago before I came here. A few months after, I had a few LD's after writing a lot in my Dream Journal. Then I kinda stopped writing in my DJ... And the LD's kinda stopped. But just last night, something awesome happened. It was about 3 or 4 in the morning and I was really tired and I stayed completely still and I felt my body fall asleep after just a few minutes. It was great. I felt like I could LD really easily now. So I knew I was going to have a lucid dream again, finally. But during the transition, I began to think about what might be in the dream, in terms of bad things, because I have had a "bad" or "scary" lucid before. So I suddenly just decided I didn't want to LD until I was entirely comfortable, so I forced myself to wake up. I regret doing that now, but what else was I supposed to do? I know that the worst thing that could happen in the dream is I wake up, but that feeling of fear you get in a dream when you're scared is more powerful than fear you usually have in real life because all emotions you have in dreams are... "amplified" I guess. I was just worried about getting that really scared feeling again. I feel as though I can be a natural at this, if I get over this crummy fear. Plus lately, I've been playing a lot of Fallout: New Vegas, and blowing people's heads apart with a 20 gauge shotgun, so I'd kinda hate to think what my brain could throw at me with those memories. I guess I need a little... reassurance is all. I'll probably get over it in time, but I'm just a bit scared because my brain thinks it's funny to scare the f--- out of me. I'll never get the ability to LD regularly if I don't somehow get my own mind to stop torturing me. Any ideas?
      Oof.

I think you should just chill ya know? Lucid Dreaming is only as intense as you want it be ( with dream control ) and usually your dreams only consist of wants or fears. Things you think about alot in your waking hours. Sometimes you get that weird dream where you really have no idea where it came frome, or a scary dream that seems so real you're sure you wont sleep right for days. But in the end....Its all just dreams. Things youve created in your mind. If you do get that scared feeling you dont like, why not simply dream up that 20 gauge and blow your fears away? hahahahaha! trust me itd feel great! Anways dont know if i helped or not good luck!

Don't think about bad things and they won't appear, and even if they randomly appear, deal with them using dream control or maybe talk to them and figure out why they follow you. Remember, it's YOUR dream and good luck!

Thanks people. I'll try again with your advice in mind... Plus, I'll probably just get angry and blow stuff up... I don't see why I didn't do that in the first place... Oh yeah... not much control.... lol

Update: Although it's kind of difficult for me to go through the transition... I think I finally got the transition part down! It's easier for me to get to it for some reason now... And all I have to do is stay up until 4 in the morning to be really tired and then do it... I've experienced the transition 2 times in less than a week! Hooray for WILD! ...Or at least I'm fairly certain that's the technique.

Hey there. I understand how it must feel. The hardest thing is successfully convincing yourself they're not real. Even if you already know they aren't. As a general recommendation, you shouldn't entertain scary or negative thoughts because presence of those thoughts will just make them pop up in your dreams. But if you c]really can't help it, here's what I suggest (and what I did): If you have any common fears or situations that you are afraid will pop up, plan ahead. What I mean is create/plan up a scenario that would fix that scene in case it does happen. That way if it does, you'll be prepared, and if it doesn't, you're all good. But if you could, try not to think of them in the first place good luck. I hope this helps.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I'll drop by the chat sometime when I'm not busy making YouTube gaming videos, writing my book, and people in the chat stop complaining for some reason how my name is in capital letters... o_o

But yeah, I can get to the transition no problem, but getting through to the lucid dream is proving to be difficult...
