What is the earliest age you had a LD?

I had my first natural LD when I was 14. I'm sure people have had them at earlier ages, what are they?

Also, I was wondering if small children have been taught to LD? Anyone heard of this or taught their kids to LD? I'm curently trying to teach my little nephew age 10, and neice age 7, but no dice yet. Any suggstions?

Teaching your kids how to LD might turn them into hippies lol but that's just me (i'm a more practical dreamer... dreams are in the mind... none of that OBE stuff)

Anyways... the first one I ever had was before I knew what they were so it was DILD and I was 8 years old I believe (give or take a year or two).

when I was really young, I believe about 7, maybe less

Some friend of mine told me the simple statement once "If you look at your hands in a dream, you can control it" and it worked perfectly well for a few times. Time made me forget it, though.

Age 10. I managed to convert a nightmare into a lucid dream after realizing that the evil "Shapeshifter" (who had been possessing my friends' bodies) could not drown me, and I was breathing underwater. I then kicked its butt, had a few false awakenings, and woke up.

My cousin is intrigued with lucid dreaming. We are pretty close for not being in the nuclear family (I see her every other day). She's had a lucid dream from a false awakening reality check, and started flying. She is only 10!

I think I knew intuitively it was a dream at early ages, but I never really... "Took Control" of them. Like, I would jump off a bridge and fly without even thinking of any consequences, but I don't necessarily think I went "YES, I'm LDing!"

Age 7 maybe? It was a really weird dream.. all I remember at this point is sitting at a dinner table and whispering to the boy next to me that it was a dream. Then later I went to sleep in the dream and woke up in another dream and had all these FAs....

I think if you're going to teach little kids to LD, then don't try to teach them methods or anything. Just tell them, "Next time you are dreaming, remember to realize that it's a dream." Seriously, that's all little kids need to know!

I wish someone had taught me when I was young, but I didn't know anyone who knew anything about LDs.

I remember having lucid dreams when I was as young as 7 or 8. This was when I realised I could float in dreams. I would float down the stairs and float over obstacles, it was brilliant and even though Im now 41 I can still remember the glee of doing it

      Hey there,

Like many others, I had my first lucid dream when I was young, probably around 8, and it was to escape a difficult nightmare. I had them sporadically after that, always with the same intend, to escape scary dreams.

They disappeared later though, and it wasn't until I was around 15-16 that I came across the concept of Lucid Dreaming and figured 'hey, I recognise that!'.

I'm not really sure, but I think I was about 3. That's the earliest I can even recall my dreams.

I used to think at about 12 - but the more i think about it my first LD was in my old infant school - which I think you leave at the age of 6/7 I dont know - someone English correct me there, so it could be a lot younger than i thought...

Thats pretty amazing. I cant believe how many people had their first natural lucids at such a young age. The average seems to be about 8 years old. But 3years is probably the youngest possible! That means that as soon as we have personal memories, or a sense of self, we are able to LD. Not sure why Im so surprised

um ive honestly been lding for as long as i can remmber my dreams, and that goes back to about first grade when i was 6 or 7!!! i honestly did not realize that when you are in a dream youre not supposed to know that youre in a dream... but i think that ALL of my dreams i know perfectly well that im dreaming (tho i dont remeber them all, but who does!) and i thought that was normal for everyone!

then about 10 months ago i discover dreammoods.com and i discovered this site a couple weeks ago and im just like 'woah... weird...."

wow almost everyone was 7 or 8! dang, i thought I was starting LDing at a young age. I'm 15, but I had my first LD I think... 4 months ago. I've known about LDing for 6 months and it took me 2 months to have my first! It took me forever!

I remember it, I was 11 years old (grade 6) and I was having this one nightmare that my whole family (mom, dad, sister) were vampires or something and i was running from them in down the driveway in the dark but then i realized i was dreaming (not sure how)... then I felt very safe

I think I may have had a semi LD when I was 11. I just found out about LDs last night too. Anyway, it was like any other normal dream, then I think I got shot and I started to bleed, but then I remembered I was dreaming and I just continued my dream not even caring that I was shot. IS that a LD? It was really weird too because I didn't do any relaxation exercises, etc.

I had my first induced Lucid when I was 13, a few months after finding this site. I only managed because I found this site though, it wasn't natural.

I was obsessed with peter pan, ghostbusters, back to the future, ghost, paranormal etc...when I was like 5...I also lived 4 feet away from a graveyard (literally 4 feet). Perhaps that had something to do with the path i'm on.

I was taught to LD when I was 4 to deal with PTSD nightmares about snakes.

I'd already had LDs at that point; I'd jump over something and take flight. Especially after reading "Fortunately, Unfortunately" right before bed, or maybe that was just coincidence because I read it almost every night (Hey, I was a precocious kid - I was already whipping sixth-graders at Scrabble at that age). Anyway, that's where my dad got the idea to teach me the technique.

I had to hone the ability until I could choose whether or not to allow a dream to continue or take conscious control. When I have nightmares about anything, they last about 30 milliseconds before I'm reorganizing the landscape.

I started LDing when i was 10 i was like Aw, i wish i could fly.... then i searched it up on google and found lucid dreaming. Started practicing until i got them, then after my second one i got bored and left them, but now i retook them and got another one.
