Failed nose-plug RC for first time.

For first time I thought it was real life while being in dream. In dream I somehow killed my parents, crashed 2 cars and a cowboy wanted to kill me with revolver next day. Could anyone explain how I managed to fail nose-plug RC?

Nose plug is my most used RC and it almost never fails me; almost never being the key term here. I have had a couple of dreams where I became suspicious I was dreaming, tried nose plug and couldn't breathe so concluded I wasn't asleep. I noticed these dreams were very clear and vivid ones in the first place which makes me think maybe thsese "stronger dreams" are able to emulate these small details better than what most dreams fail at.

Also in one dream nose plug failed me, but I was still suspicious, so I did another RC which worked, then I did nose plug one more time and that worked probably because I expected it too. I get the feeling you need to expect to be able to breathe during nose plug. I also use it while lucid to help keep lucidity and it has never failed me then, probably because I've got more expectation to be able to breathe rather than a random check in a non-lucid.

      Shantak is correct.

When practicing RCs, you have to expect them to work. And it helps, if you practice 2-3 RCs every time. That way if one fails, you have a backup.
