      Gifted People?

Have any of you ever met people who are naturally gifted at this kinda stuff?

I know a girl... she's the sister of a close friend of mine. I found out by word of mouth that she was having lucid dreams every single night, remembering most of them... and --wait for it --she didn't even know what a lucid dream was. She thought that knowing that you're in a dream was how everybody's dreams were.

I spoke to her in person about this obviously and found out that it wasn't a joke or anything. She was talking about how in a lucid dream you can actually muster as much power for yourself as you want. Just like in a cartoon really. She said she went near the ocean and created a tsunami just with her arms and it annihilated an entire city.

Actually she's a very talented artist. She tattoos people for a living but has been drawing from a very young age. I'm guessing that with such a keen sense of the right side of her brain... the creative side, well that's WHY this happens. Maybe her awake life is much more similar to what we call a dream.

Sometimes it just bothers me how I spend several hours trying to just raise my awareness a little bit and there are people out there like this who have lucid dreams without even trying.

MMM I kind of think I'm somewhat naturally gifted, not in the traditional sense of what people refer to as, 'a natural', but more along the lines of once I learned about it I picked it up pretty quickly and have been able to progress to a pretty high level. I do feel bad though when I hear how rough some people have it when trying to learn and it makes me appreciate how easy I have it. Hopefully this doesn't sound too boastful.

I feel like I'm a natural at dream control and stabilization, but not at getting lucid in the first place. My sister claims she has frequent lucid dreams without requiring effort, to which my response is: lucky ******.

I'm a natural lucid dreamer but at a very low frequency. The interesting thing is that I wasn't always a lucid dreamer but I've always had good recall and felt very connected and interested in my dreams. I was once reading around (about 10 years ago?) and read "to take control of dreams you need to know you are dreaming", I had my first LD that night (I'd found the subject interesting but wasn't really shooting for one). Becoming aware of this whole thing was enough to trigger it.

On the other hand though I find it very difficult to improve on things, trying different methods and techniques don't improve how often I LD over my native skill by that much, and most of my lucids are weak; its almost as if I don't have LDs often enough to become good at it.

Yes there are people who have various abilities quite out of the norm, some of them developed them to a very unique point (ones who can normally teach it better) and others are just "made" that way.

In this forum for instance there are people who claim to be lucid all the time, people who can dilate time regularly to huge extents, people who can have LD's almost at will... You'll find many levels of abilities. I personally just take other's achievements as a reference point to what's presently possible (according to such and such), other than that we all have to work with what we've got and make the most out of it.
Intending and expecting I lock my target, proceeding to imagine how it will come to pass.

I agree, just like any other skill out there, there are others who are just really good without even trying (or knowing what they're even doing haha). The great thing about lucid dreaming is that you don't need to have a certain bone structure, or bulky muscles, or a great voice or coordination skills. It's all in your mindset and if you really try, you can lucid dream. And the best part is you do it in your sleep and you don't even sweat!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

My friend's Mum, for instance, has lucid dreamed all her life. She just thought that was how people dreamed, being in control. Lucky git!
