      Lightbulb Controlling Emotions?

I've heard that you can tell your subconscious to make you feel certain emotions while LDing, like screaming "Make me feel loved!" to the sky.

But what if you could tell your subconscious to make you fell a certain way when you did something in real life? Like, associating certain emotions with certain actions?
Can you tell your subconscious, "Make me feel instantly happy when I snap my fingers in waking life!" and have it work? What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to try this out and let me know how it works!

I am thinking that one could combine method acting techniques (Method acting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and Pavlovian conditioning (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_conditioning) to achieve this. However, given how I do not desire to be more like Pavlov's dogs, I don't think I shall try it myself.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

I think that it is possible, mostly because of a few experiments that hukif did.

If you wonder if something is possible, regarding LDing and your brain, then it probably is. You just need to research it and try it.

Also, the pavlovian idea would def work Joanna, but I wouldn't want to be controlled. I'd want to be able to turn it on and off and not have some random person snap and I get happy.

I've never wondered this before and so I've never tried it, but I think that there's a good chance that it could happen. Of course we would have to truly believe that this would happen and it might involve a fair few tries (self-hypnosis, I'd say, is a big key in this--but again I don't know) but eventually it probably would work. Perhaps if I have a lucid dream I'll remember to check this out, and if so then I'll tell you the results either on here or on your Visitor Messages board!

What if I told you that you can feel, do and be whatever you want right now?

A bit off topic but I think it would be better to choose for yourself by being conscious, instead of tricking yourself by being unconscious.

Ironically enough most people are tricking themself unconsciously to feel bad.

Think of the mind of a child, they are by default trying to be happy because they live in the now and don't think about the past or the future.

But as we grow older the social conditioning of school, media and other things makes us question ourselves and ask "Am I enough?"

And the ego is born. Now we start to identify ourselves, or rather the ego, with different things like if you were bullied you will feel weak and maube have low-selfesteem.
But if you are someone who constantly have got positive feedback, you will feel like a successful person. You get the idea.

So the truth is that who you are now, or what you feel now, or what you do now is because you want it.

If you for example have been sitting home alone playing videogames for years, it will be really hard to let go of it because you are now associating yourself with it.

It's the same for emotions. Whatever you want to become you can be, all you have to do is to start doing what such a person does.

If you want to be something so general as just feeling good, then you should start to take some babysteps and then increase it slowly.

For example smile more often, be aware of negative thoughts and change them to positive ones, surround yourself with positive and encouraging people.
If you can't find those people there is always Youtube, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k08ESEOyYBc

But most importantly you need to start accept that whatever problem you have, it is NORMAL! It is the human condition, when you do this you can detach yourself from it and never let it become a part of your ego or disturb your life.

An example: Common beginner thread: "I have been trying to lucid dream for 5 weeks now and I don't see any result... HELP!"

What they focus is either the illusion of lucid dreaming videos on youtube telling them that it takes a few weeks to learn lucid dreaming, or some thread where they read that ONE guy managed to learn in just a few days. What they don't focus on are the thousands of other people that are experiencing the exact same thing.

I made this post very much off topic, but I just want to show you that YOU got the power to do, feel and be whatever you want.
