Hello everyone! This is my first post so feedback would be very much appreciated! |

Even though you say OBE in your title, I exit same way you described into my WILDs. |
Sorry about the title being a little washy, but thanks for the advice. If this happens again I'm going to try to direct my thoughts to where I need to be! I didnt think about trying to clear my eyes either! I'll definitely have to try that next time. |
I don't want to make a whole new thread, but this is happening too frequently for someone to not have answers! So the dream where you figure out you're dreaming, but you are in your room and try moving away from your dream body, however your eyes seem part closed and if you open them I find that I just wake up. Is there a solution? I tried clearing my eyes and countless things, but found that it didn't work! |

Hey, I had some issues with false awakenings when I first tried WILDs. I would seem "tired" in my dream, or not be able to move. I decided that my problem stems from being tired in my room so often and then expectation taking over after it happened 5 or 6 times. When I find myself in my room I just close my eyes and teleport somewhere else. It might wake you up, but with practice it won't. If it does, just prepare for a DEILD and imagine a different scene. If you can learn how to teleport without moving, then you will be able to get out of any situation. |
Sometimes when I did WILD something would pull me back to my body. I don't know if it's the same with you, but with me it felt like some rubber-like substance was connecting me to my body/bed. I found out that I can deal with it by imagining that his substance is a coat that I wear, and then taking the coat off and it helped with the issue. |

The being pulled back to the body thing - this is frequently described by OBE'ers. They recommend to get away from the sleeping body as soon as you can, so you don't get snapped back. I have heard this tip: When you feel you are "out", think "to the [door, window, kitchen]". Basically any place, that's more than 10-15 feet from your sleeping body. |
If you are an OBE type of person, and are having problems leaving your body, the problem may be with expectation, or confidence. |
So, the farthest I usually get would be like halfway down the stairs, so I suppose that isn't far enough. I will have to keep working on the teleporting without waking up idea! It seems very promising. Thank you all for the suggestions! |

It is already great that you reach a point where you are doing OBE and you are lucid. You need to practice your dream control, try to keep the same feeling as if you are awake. Do not think how you move, try to move without thinking. |

I'm glad I took a look here. I'm seeing some very similar experiences as I've had nearly every single one of my close ones. I've never had a complete success but several partial successes. I just recently posted an intro thread in which I described my recent LD that seemed to be quite a bit more involved than any I have had before. Later I mentioned a sort of OBE I'd had just previous to it. The thing is the partial OBE wasn't very significant to me because that kind of thing happens often enough to me. I'd say this one was slightly more succesful in that I felt I was at least able to spin around in my dream body to be the opposite direction on the bed. Sometimes I manage to sit up in a partial OBE but I have never once been able to stand or especially move beyond that point. As each has mentioned here I have some kind of a snap back thing that usually results in my eyes opening and me being wide awake. That ends up the time for me to pee. After this particular time though I had the LD that I mentioned earlier and seemed very significant to me. |
