      Time in LD

Hi. I've been recently trying to get an LD, and everything is OK, but I was reading some of threads here and I read about length of LD and about time perception. Is 10 minute long LD really enough to enjoy all things someone would want to do? It seems to me that you can't do much in such period of time. Do stabilization techniques prolong LDs? What are you able to do in 10 minute LD?

I'm still working with LD and have only maintained lucidity for short timeframes before I wake up, but I know from experience of regular dreaming that I can have what feels like 10 minutes in a dream pass with just 1 or 2 minutes in real-world time. (I know this because I often will start dreaming right after falling asleep, and get woken up for whatever reason to realize I've only been asleep for a couple minutes). Conversely when I'm meditating it's like things slow down in my mind but pass very quickly in waking life.

10 minutes is a long time in dream land!

If you've still to experience your first LD, then a 10 second dream will be enough to blow your mind.

My LD's rarely go beyond 1 minute, and when they do, I can't remember half of the stuff that went on in there. In 5 minutes of physical time you can traverse continents, fight battles, and go frolicking in the woods. The phrase "cut to the chase" comes to mind; there is little wasted time in dreams.

in my dreams, i am only guessing how long they run for, i really don't know. i manage to get a lot done though. i have had a few long lucids, but i would only be guessing at how long they were, anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, and i manage to get Heaps done in them.

however, more frequent are the short lucids, where i only manage to stay lucid for a few seconds, or a minute or 2

another factor in achieving the most from your lucids is control, and if you have excellent control, you can 'achieve' more in a 5 min lucid than a loosely controlled 20 min one.
