      Was this a lucid dream?

I might have had my first lucid dream, but I'm not sure whether it was actually a lucid or a nonlucid about being lucid...

The dream (which is the second dream in this post: Oct 30 2013 - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views) basically involves me waking up later than I wanted to (because I'm trying out CAT), wondering if it's actually a dream, and performing a few RC's and realizing that I *am* dreaming.

The thing is that it ends weirdly (instead of just waking up, I have another FA and my mom comes to my room because she heard a thud and I apparently fell out of my bed), and I don't think I was lucid during that part. Also, earlier parts of my dream were also fuzzy and felt sort of "detached," for lack of a better word (I'm still not sure if I actually flew, or imagined I flew, or nonlucidly flew... ) It might be partially due to my shifty dream recall, but...

      Any advice? Thanks.

(On another note, I tried WILDing the first time I woke up and got a few weird sensations, like vibrating(?). Was I close to succeeding?)

I would say that every time you realize that you are dreaming the LD begins. Then it's up to you. The first attempts are usually not very vivid etc and they end very soon.

If you ralized you are dreaming, that is a lucid dream. So congrats

That is the only requirement for a dream to be called lucid. Clarity, controll, memory - those can all be present or not. They don't really make a dream lucid.

When you had an FA - that was another great chance to become lucid. All you need to do is RC+awareness every time when you get up from your bed.

Vibrations are normal sensations that we get as we are falling asleep. It's great that you have noticed them. That means, that you are paying attention to the falling asleep process. Here are some links you can check out

Thanks for the info! I've had two more possible lucid dreams since then. I guess they were really lucid dreams. That means I'm making progress

I'm working on RCs and awareness, though I need to remember to do them more throughout the day. I'm also trying to WILD on the weekends, when I can sleep in, but lately I've been having trouble falling asleep when I want to :/ I must be thinking too much...
