As I stated in my profile, while I have been lucid dreaming for years, I didn't know what it was until my son pointed it out to me a few years ago. I remember my first LD as having started as a nightmare where an evil creature was attacking me over and over. At some point in this dream, I began to rationalize that monsters don't exist, and therefore this must be a dream. At that point in the dream, the monster disappeared. I stood around in the dream realizing that I was still dreaming, and could actually CONTROL the dream. That began my journey into LD experimenting. This happened almost 30 years ago. I have honed my skills throughout the years, and can now LD at will. I have had one WILD dream. I tried this one time, and was successful. I was driving on a long trip. I was feeling tired, so I decided to pull into a rest area. While not even knowing what I was doing, I took the sleepiness as an opportunity to try to roll directly into an LD. While sitting completely still in my car with no outside stimulation I was able to close my eyes and within 30 seconds drop myself into a LD. I have only tried this once, and I was successful. |

I like destruction and reality, and one invariably leads to the other.
'Dreams are real while they last. Can we say more of life?'
'We die to remember what we live to forget'
Mine was unintentional, I didn't know what lucid dreaming was at the time. I was standing in front of a door and became lucid, spontaneously as far as I remember. I knew if I opened the door I'd go into a dream scene and I could explore it consciously, but I was afraid to because I wasn't sure what to do if there was a nightmare on the other side. I woke up as my hand touched the doorknob. |

Every man and every woman is a star. Every number is infinite; there is no difference.
Thanks you guys for responding. I always thought that all persons who experienced LD's experienced their first one spontaneously. The reading I'm doing here suggests that some people are here TRYING to experience their first LD. This makes me wonder if some people have something different in their makeup that others don't that allows them to LD more readily. |

Mine was unintentional too. But I believe people on this forum had their first one after practicing the techniques here. Anyone want to confirm this? |

My first lucid dream was a DILD. |

My first LD was unintentional and it was a shared dream. In the dream I knew I was dreaming and I was with a pretty girl I know from school, spending a night together in a tent on the beach. |

I can't remember my first LD and it's because I've had so many accidentally (by DILD) as a child (by the age of 3) before I even knew what lucid dreaming was, but it was most definitely unintentional and so were probably hundreds upon hundreds years after that from simply learning to realize when I was dreaming overtime, and later on, realizing I could control the dream as well. Of course this means lucid dreaming was pretty easy and natural for me when I actually learned there was such thing and started getting into it several years later, but at the same time anyone can be a lucid dreamer even if they've never had one before. |

I discovered in a spanish radio show the existence of the lucid dreams, then, I found an explanation of a strange dream when I was a child. |

My first LD was intentional, I've been doing reality checks for a while, especially nose plug RC, which is my absolute favourite. |

My first Lucid Dreaming, I woke up from my bed and did the nose plugging Reality Check and it works, so I knew I was dreaming. |

My first LD was back when I was about 5. |

My first lucid dream was unintentional, and at the time, i knew pretty much nothing about dream control. (Didn't know how to fly, get what i wanted, or anything cool.) Despite that, the dream was actually quite amazing. It didn't last for very long, but the feeling you get the first time is great. Lucids always give me a great feeling upon awakening. I woke up by scaring myself, actually. Tried to fly, and ended up getting stuck in mid air, and i had difficulty getting down. The dream wasn't lucid at first, but i unintentionally realized i was dreaming. |

Mine was a few years ago. I had used the DILD method and did a reality check after noticing the clock read 10:85 or something. I went outside and changed the color of the sky and the color of the grass and leaves on a tree. It was pretty psychedelic looking. |

I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.
