      Advice form the subconscious

So say you are in a lucid dream and suddenly remember a dilemma you have in real life. Would it work if you asked yourself for advice in the dream, for instance by asking a DC or by shouting towards the sky? I mean, would you receive any answer that you would be able to interpret? Has anyone tried it? It's something that has been wandering around my mind for a while now. Thanks!

Oh, sure ! You can try, that's very interesting

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

"What's really gonna boggle your mind later on is would you've come up with that perspective even if the dream character hadn't mentioned it?"
kinda resembles a great quote from the matrix movie

That's a pretty philosophical exercise as well, is "I" a singular entity, or am I a unified expression of consciousness provenient from several sources?

off-topic: what happens in people's with multiple personality disorders dreams? Interesting

I actually do this all the time, sometimes I get really dumb DC's but when I summon the dream character intentionally, they're usually quite intelligent. They can give me deep, insightful answers that help me resolve problems in my waking life. I think that this is a great way to tap into the vast well of wisdom that we all have hiding under the surface.

I believe in MPD, but its more of a myth. That is a good thought though,

No doubt that there is much more hidden in our minds than we can even imagine with our consciousness. BUT...our mind really loves trolling us in dreams. Don't expect straightforward and clear answer. Sometimes it's like a kōan. Total nonsense but if you meditate about it long enough, you will find out really incredible stuff.

I'm referring to MPD (now known as DID) in the sense of change of a person's state and the relative amnesia regarding memories experienced in that particular state, not the typical media portrayal scenario, but it is indeed a real disorder. Of course some of these changes to the person's state also happens in people with board line disorder and others, but in case of DID, it's much more fascinating if you consider dream content implications.

I recently decided to seek medical advice in a lucid dream about a chronic leg injury I have and which I don't understand very well. I successfully summoned a medical doctor, and asked him for advice. He told me that I need to stimulate my lymphatic system and encourage more lymphocytes to gather at the injured area.

Now, I'm pretty sure (after reading up on it the next day) that this advice is not particularly relevent. But I find it fascinating that I was able to receive coherent advice on a specific issue from my mind's rendition of an expert on the matter.

I think it's far more likely that the advice will be accurate / higher quality if you ask a dream character a question about something that you are already knowledgeable about. E.g., if I actually *was* a medical doctor, perhaps my dream doctor would have offerred something more useful!

Have you researched the role of lymphatic system in eastern medicine? Maybe it has a connection there? I'm not saying it does, just a thought.

My "label" (diagnosed 2001) is "Dissociative Disorder with imaginative reconstruction and borderline personally".

      I am multiple personality.

But in 2008 I saw in a TV interview with dream therapist "Bosnak" that all humans are not one pefsonality but a "collection of dissociative states"

Not really, no. I know that helping to increase circulation and bring fresh blood (and I guess lymphatic fluid as well) to injured tissues is generally considered helpful, but I don't think it's likely to be a central issue in the injuries I have (I think it's tendonitis, basically).

I think that there are many sources of consciousness in our mind, and it's survival of the fittest over time as to which personality parts win, and that's for normal people I think - it's just so subtle most of us don't notice it - people with multiple personality disorder the only thing that's wrong with them is that this is too obvious and not subtle enough, but the rest of us are in denial when we think we got one personality, in my opinion.

This is an interesting topic as i am very interested in what our subconscious says. Sometimes it says dumb things, sometimes stuff that i don't want to hear and sometimes good advices.
In a recent dream, i asked a DC what can i do to improve my life, and she said that, first of all, i should improve my eating habits. I have some minor health problems and i think is partly because of the food i eat. I don't eat so bad, i , but i have a lot to improve. And i didn't care at that time. Because of my DC, i'm taking care of that.
Sometimes i shout at the sky and nothing happens.
