      Increasing my lucidity in dreams

      It's definitely true that you can have control over your dreams yet not recognize them. I had a dream last night that I can't re-call very well, but I think I re-call myself being attacked but I was able to teleport out of the danger and to safety. Yet even then though I didn't have a lot of awareness that I was dreaming.

      Any tips anyone can give me?

      I don't know how experienced you are in lucid dreaming, but it's very important in your first number of lucid dreams that you actively remind yourself that you are in a dream.
      It's very easy to become so absorbed by something that you lose awareness of yourself, and this can make you lose lucidity.
      Some very good ways to remain lucid are to tell yourself "I'm dreaming now!" or "this is a dream!" whenever you feel even a slight loss of lucidity, and to stimulate your senses as much as you can;
      look at things around you, listen for sounds, touch things, taste something and so on.

      You could even practice these things in waking life, and pretend that you already are in a dream.
      This can sometimes be very fun, because it can actually make waking life feel "dreamlike", which I personally find very pleasant.
