Question It's just not the same anymore

The past couple of months have just been horrible for lucid dreaming and even dreaming in general. My recall went from multiple dreams a night to a measly couple a week, if even that many. I realize that lack of dedication and motivation is a part of the problem but I just can't even begin to get motivated with these lousy results. Any tips?

This message in competition #16 really lit my fire to break a recall and LD dry spell:

First night and I get lucky. Before sleep I watched two motivational videos - Rise and Swim (Welcome to the Grind) - YouTube and How Bad Do You Want It? (Success) HD - YouTube
I've especially remembered this phrase: When you wanna be succesfull as bad as you wanna breath, you'll be succesfull!
With dreaming, there basically is only you to help yourself out. You need to be honest with yourself, and carefully examine whether or not you're faithfully following to the best of your abilities all the advice that is out there.

Every time I felt frustrated that I couldn't get back to sleep in the last couple months, I'd have a conversation with myself, "Well, are you following the fundamentals? Getting exercise during the day? Eating well? *Getting to bed on time*? *Getting enough sleep*? No? Well, get down to business, and DO IT"

Attitude matters -- remain positive about dreaming. I know it's hard without recall, I find no recall nights a bit of a downer, I'm thankful I don't have too many of those. But I keep dreaming on my mind all the time. Keep reviewing your older journal entries, remember and enjoy those older dreams, visualize dreams you'd like to have, daydream and enjoy those. Thank your SC and ask for more dreams like the ones you've enjoyed.

If you want it, keep working at it, and success will come!

Go and pick up A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming. They explain a lot of good points in that book, such as the true power of INTENTION. PLus, FryingMan makes some good points.
