I cant go into SP anymore. I Need Help Please.

This is just a quick thread I am starting I need to go some where soon but I will be back as it is a very important one (to me at least).

For the past few weeks I haven't been able to go into full sleep paralysis consciously -- well it is the stage where the whole body feels numb (not where you start hearing that weird sound). So far nothing has seemed to work. All that happens is my feet start twitching a little and may be a couple of fingers but then everything stops. I started out just fine a few weeks ago, managed to get into that stage before full SP 2 times and I woke up in SP once the other night but was frightened out of it almost immediately I drifted back into it but again was scared out of it.

I just want to try get into the stage where I feel numb again so I can continue and go into full SP. It's just not happening.

      Help me please.

Were you paying attention to the hypnotic imagery? If you were too focused on the task of going into SP, then going into the dream, you're never going to fall asleep. That's the goal, is to fall asleep, and you can't do that if you're too aware of what's going on, you need to go with the flow. Your consciousness anchor should be in the very back of your mind, you shouldn't be focusing on it though.

Don't try to force it, just let your body fall asleep naturally, the way it always does. The only difference is that you have an anchor keeping you conscious. Don't resist the hypnotic imagery, embrace it; allow it to take you into sleep.

If you're feeling afraid, that is going to be counter-productive to achieving SP as well. Just remember that it's all hallucinations and that none of it is real. Try to stay relaxed as much as you can, and to combat the scary HI you can try to imagine sights and scents that are pleasant.

Okay, thanks but how am I going to hold on to my conscious awareness if I try fall asleep the way I usually do? Should I just think about things, (envision landscapes, imagine picking apples on an orange tree...and more "impossible" things)?

Edit: Can my imagination be my "anchor"?

The best way to get SP is to do anything you can to screw up your circadian cycle as much as possible. This means alter your sleep patterns significantly sleep for 3 hours wake up take random naps throughout the night and day for small periods of times and sleep in uncomfortable positions. Do this long enough and you'll get SP more often. Good luck.

That's the whole trick to getting a WILD, you have to have what's called a consciousness "anchor." This is something that is in the very back of your mind, so that you can allow yourself to concentrate on the HI. Your imagination cannot be used as an anchor, it needs to be something that links you back to reality. Like the white noise from a fan, or a dull pain.

You can envision dreamscapes if you want to VILD, and I recommend it if you've been stuck in SP for a long time.

VILD - Visually Incubated Lucid Dream - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource

Basically a WILD in which you visualize the dream, which directly inducts you into it. Some people call them V-WILDS.

I actually don't see the difference between VILD and WILD. Just a different acronym for the same technique. But I guess it is what it is.

The key difference is that in a WILD you succumb to the HI and eventually find yourself in a dream, whereas in a VILD you create the dreamscape through visualization and hence get "incubated" directly into it.

So how exactly does one bypass HI if you're inducing LD from a wakening and fully conscious state?

I think you would do a FILD in order to bypass the HI and the SP
