One of my recurring lucid dreams is coming true!

I'm very happy and excited about all of this. I've wanted to live along one of our local rivers my entire life. Interestingly, where I live is the watershed between East and West - the Wabash runs into the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico; the Maumee into Lake Erie and the St Lawrence to the Atlantic Ocean.

      About the dream:

For decades I've dreamed of a house on a river - or actually on a hill near a river. There is a flood, and the water is up a couple of inches over the edge of what I have always perceived as a large window or patio door.

Imagine my surprise last month when I found a property in the area we are looking for that is only 4 feet above the 100 year flood mark. My dream is that another, more severe flood occurs and the water spreads for miles - you can see nothing when you look out the large picture window but miles of submerged trees along the river bank and brown water spread across hundreds of acres of lowbottom farm land.

Interestingly, old US24 where the property is located in NE Indiana along the Maumee Scenic and Historic river is actually a smidge lower than the elevation of the house. Another part of my dream is that I'm driving through the flood on a very familiar road and either the road has eroded away or I accidently drive off into the swollen river. I'm driving a pickup truck - a vehicle I have not yet in my life owned.

The lucidity has come in stages, due to the repetitive nature of the dream. Does anyone else have dreams that began as conventional memories and then progressed into full lucidity?

Here is my take on your dream coming true.

In my opinion, if you always wanted to live at that place, you were thinking about it often. That had reflected in your dreams.

And also in waking life. Since your subconcious knows your goal, it may have been subconsiously guiding you towards your goal. Helping you make decissions when you came to crossroads. You may have been making decisions you didn't even knew why, that finally led you to the property of your dreams. Literally.

And your question about dreams progressing into lucidity. I have not noticed this in one dream. But have noticed it during nite. First dream was vivid, next one even more, some control, then next dream was lucid.

That can actually be a very powerful tool. I should do some more research on that...

I think that's the "gut feeling", "sixth sense". When we make choices we don't even know why. I think that's why people that "dream of the future" and have a plan for the future, are more successful in reaching their goals.
