    Thread: I need help

      I need help

      So i had already like 2 lucid dreams. But one was short and the other one was supershort. Now when i do a rc and I am aware that i'm dreaming i just dont get into my head that i can control the dream. Its like i do a rc then i ignore it and dont even think that much about doing something.

      The next thing is recall. I cant recall my dream or lucid dream very good. Its like if i only remember that one part.

      If anyone could help me i would be thank full

      I am still a newbie so i question allot :/

      When you become lucid, try stabilizing the dream. This means that, after you RC and confirm it's a dream, you anchor yourself within the dream to help keep it stable and to help you maintain lucidity. This basically means becoming more "aware" within the dream, much like SAT/ADA, where you focus on all of your senses and try to become as aware as possible. You want to spend a few seconds doing this so that you not only lengthen the dream, but you also have greater control and a clearer mind so you can do what you want to do.

      As for recall, that's OK, especially when starting you. Keeping a dream journal is the biggest way to improve dream recall, but if you're still not seeing very much results, try writing more detail into your dream journal. Make an effort to remember as much of every dream as possible. Another, more immediate trick is to stay motionless when you wake up. Don't immediately get up and write your dreams down. Instead, lay there for a minute focusing solely on remembering your dreams. I find that I will often remember more details if I do this than if I just jump up and get to writing it down. Don't spend a ton of time doing this, but a couple minutes each morning should work

      Ok i take it back with the recalling due i start to recall better and better. I still remember where i wrote down 3 days in a row that i had no memories but it got better. For ex. today i could remember 3 dreams and on one of them i had a really good recall. i wasn't really aware in the point where i wrote the Thread. Maybe because i failed again at a lucid dream the time where i wrote the thread i wasn't in the best mood. So just scratch the recall part

      it just takes practice, keep at it and you should get it eventually. also what would really help is having a concrete goal for what you want to do in your dream. if your only goal is to become lucid, you'll find it harder to achieve much dream control. pick a dream goal and really work toward it. think about it often, daydream about it even when you can, this is called incubating. the more you want to achieve the goal and the more interest you put in that particular goal it will make you remember to do it when you become lucid next. also i notice since your just starting out you lucid dreams are quite short. dont worry about this, the more you lucid dream the longer they will become. good luck

      I've heard about people who control their dreams but I've been a lucid dreamer all my life and I never really controlled much. Maybe with the right technique you can, but it hasn't been a natural thing to do even though I'm a natural lucid dreamer. I agree that having a concrete goal probably helps. The only control I've had over my lucid dreams is changing them completely in an uncontrollable way, waking up, or doing something bold or supernatural (like flying) that I wouldn't do in real life. Maybe you have no desire to change anything. I've had bad lucid dreams that I didn't change just because I didn't feel like it. I knew that if it got any worse I'd change it or wake myself up but I let it be slightly bad without bothering to do anything.

      BTW, I'm not saying dream stabilization doesn't work because I haven't tried it (the only thing I've done to stay in a lucid dream was relax and concentrate on not waking) but if I hadn't heard that it worked for others I'd have guessed it wouldn't work. I don't remember ever seeing or feeling any part of myself in a lucid dream except for having the sensation of urinating and worrying that I'm doing it in bed (which I wasn't). I make myself open my eyes to wake myself up. It seems that if I tried sensing or doing something else with my body it too might affect my real life body and wake me up.
