      First Lucid Dream or.....?

So, last night I think I had my first lucid dream, it went something like this:

I was in the middle of some strange dream, I dont remeber very well, then I thought, why is there a huge mechanical robot shooting missiles. At this point I decided to do a reality check. I counted my fingers on , my right hand, normal. Then when I counted my left hand, I noticed I had a 6th finger. Realizing I was dreaming, I started spinning around, as I had heard that was an effective way to stay in the dream. Then, when I s topped spinning, I was in a warehouse. There were a couple of random peolple standing In the warehouse. kne man approached me, his name began with the letter 'm', unfortunately I cant remember what his name was, as it was quite strange. I asked him if I was lucid dreaming. He replied that I was. I then asked him if I could fly, he said I could. I jumped up and found that flying was hard, like a badly programmed flying video game. Before I continue I should mentionend that I never actually left the ware house. I seemed to be limited to that area. Next I asked if I could breathe underwater. Once againnhe said I could. The warehouse then flooded with water, up to the ceiling. I found I couldnt breathe, so I swam up to the top, but then remembered that the warehouse was completely full. I swam back downmto my 'guide' and said BREATHE. I then realized i could breathe. After that, the water left, and all the random people slowly started grabbing there things and leaving. I asked the man and said "where is everyone going?" He said that it was time to wake up. Then what felt like a few minutes later, I did wake up. It was only about 9:00 when I woke up, which was strange since I usually sleep in until 10:00.

So that left me wondering, did I have a lucid dream, or a dream about having a lucid dream. I remember the dream more vividly then most, plus I did feel in control during the dream. The only things that make me doubt myslef are the fact that there was a guide of sorts, I was limited to this warehouse, and, I only learned about Lucid dreaming half a month ago. I would your feedback, so I know if Im going Inn the right direction, or if I had Lucid-Dream-Ception.

Since you realized you were dreaming, it was a lucid dream.

Achieving lucidity after a couple of weeks is really quite good. My advice would be to continue learning about lucid dreaming and finding what methods work best for you. Also, becoming familiar with dream control will help you turn lucid dreams into more rewarding experiences.

The only qualification for a lucid dream is to realize you're dreaming. The amount of control you have varies from dream to dream (and with how much practice you have), so I wouldn't worry about the fact you couldn't leave the warehouse. For your first LD, you exhibited more control than normal by practicing your flying and learning that you can breathe under water! I'd say this was quite a success, especially for your first one.

So, congrats on your first lucid!
