When you first became lucid, did you fly around and screw everyone? how was it?

      Hi,
I’ve read a few accounts from people who have attained lucidity in their dreams, they describe that when they first became proficient they flew around and screwed everyone they wanted, and then they went on to better things.

I’ll be honest, that’s all I really want, and my question is, is this part all it’s cracked up to be? Has anyone here achieved this? And is it weird and vague and dreamlike or is it 'real'?

And my second question is, how did you do it? I'm not making any progress. I can't even seem to remember my dreams to write them in a journal.
I actually bough a nova dreamer but haven’t had any luck with that either. Please sjare your journey to lucidity. thanks.

Flying feels brilliant, which isn't a spectacular description, but its the only on that comes to mind. Sex feels like sex: also brilliant (hopefully). As being lucid usually includes a large amount of vividness, any antics do tend to feel real, though there is variation among dreams. Everyone's got their own reasons for moving on to other things, but I personally enjoy both still. Never used a nova; bare bones WILD works and I'm sticking to it.

Oh in my first lucid dream I didn't manage to fly around - but in my second one I did. It's much cooler than I imagined! The wind, the height, the feeling... frankly it's quite hard to describe, but it definitely feels extremly real and absolutely magnificent!
If you have problems with recalling dreams then how about a mantra like "I remember my dreams." or "I wake up after every dream.". Be creative and think of something that means something to you and hence reminds you of its content. You could also try to set an alarm during nighttime in order to wake up during a dream to increase the chances of recalling it. The more dreams you put down in your dream journal and the more consistent it becomes the better your recall will be!

Good luck and feel free to ask if you would like to know anything else, I'll try my best to help.

Trust me, Flying and messing with Dream Characters are both great fun, and I have experience with both. And flying, well I am always learning to be a better lucid dreamer. I am working on building the experiences of my dreams. In fact last night, I was flying in a semi-lucid dream, and focusing on the g-forces that taking place. In the dream before that, I focused on the visuals and mechanics of flying, and even taught some other dream characters to do it. Much of what happens in LDs comes down to expectation. If you expect flying to be groggy and stale, then it will. If you expect it to be exhilarating and fun, then it will. I have yet to build a lucid dream up to be as vivid as real life, but many others say that it can be done. Remain optimistic, and you will achieve your flying dream.

And my second question is, how did you do it? I'm not making any progress. I can't even seem to remember my dreams to write them in a journal.
To build your dream recall, try going to bed earlier. You could apply a MILD mantra; "I will remember my dreams." If neither of those help, try opening a waking life journal. If you build your memory about your waking life, it can actually help you to recall your dreams better.

I actually bough a nova dreamer but haven’t had any luck with that either.
I don't recommend the use of EILD devices. Make sure your training yourself to recognize the signals that the device gives you, be it though reality checks or a MILD mantra.

Hi, Thanks for the answers guys.
Are you guys proficient to the point where you regularly have LDs that are under your control?
If so, how long did it take to achieve that?

I am not really proficient yet, but I have come to a point when I can have at least one spontaneous lucid dream per month without really trying.

I started practicing lucid dreaming back in summer 2010, but I wasn't really serious at all and pretty much had a half-curious interest in it.
I started to become really serious sometime in autumn 2011, and after two weeks of practice I started having lucid dreams about 1-2 times a week on average, until my motivation dropped for some reason (I guess I was too busy or something).

      What you need to keep in mind is that lucid dreaming is something that requires serious passion and effort;
it's a whole lifestyle, and if you are a serious lucid dreamer then lucid dreams will be more or less on your mind 24/7.
You need to really decide for yourself that you are going to stick with it, and make it one of your priorities.
Don't worry - having lucid dreaming on your mind almost all the time is actually really pleasant, because it adds a certain magic even to waking life that's hard to describe, but ever since I started practicing lucid dreaming I have always felt a certain "dreamlike" atmosphere even when I am awake, and I love it.

Flying and sex are both #1 on most LDers list. Sometimes it's just an instinct, that overpowers your intentions and you have to consiously fight against this urge. Not that those things are not fun, but there are other things to do as well.

Quite proficient. Took me three years, though. Granted, one of those years was spent trying to WILD immediately (don't worry. I've learnt my lesson.)

Great question, for me having not yet had a lucid dream but I have my first lucid dream fully planned out already!

I plan on asking every dream character what they represent and I have this picture of a very large roman style vault where I In vision my memories are stored and I want to find it whether or not this is possible in a lucid dream.
