Did I just have my first Lucid?

Last night I think I had my first Lucid (!!!!!) But I am unsure as to if it was a genuine Lucid, or if it was just me dreaming about being lucid, so I'm going to describe the events and hopefully someone can help! This was during a nap.

My dream started with me being in some sort of classroom with my little sisters. During this time some kid apparently went on a hulk-like rampage (becoming very strong and pounding the crap out of everything and everyone) I grab my sisters and run around the room avoiding the guy, then I take them with me out of the room. He saw us escape and is trying to chase us. I run with them out of the building and the guy runs out a different part of the building and into the environment (which is a big forested/mountain-y area). My middle sister looks at me and says we need to fly, she hops up and asks "can't you normally fly here?" I nod my head and jump up and say "Yeah duh of course." As I feel myself fly up, I am jolted with a thought "Wait, I can only fly in my dreams, I'm dreaming!" In this instant I feel very weird, like I'm in some alien place. I don't feel like I normally do inside my dreams. It's not totally uncomfortable, but for a moment or two I feel uncomfortably aware. Everything becomes crystal clear, and I immediately go down from the sky to try a reality check. I cautiously press my thumb against my palm, and I feel the oddest sensation of it going through! At this point I'm super excited, I had almost given up hope of ever having a Lucid. I tell my sister to go on without me. I rub my hands together and start doing some deep breathing and telling myself to stay calm. I start doing what I always told myself I'd do when I become lucid. I turn around and start to concentrate and I say "magical door, magical door" over and over. I turn around and there's a brown door waiting for me. I take another breathe and start saying "warm, beautiful green field." I say it one more time and try to imagine it. I open the door and walk into the field. I rub my hands again and do another thumb reality check, along with the hold your nose and breathe reality check, I'm delighted to feel myself still breathing. I think to myself about what I want to do next. I remember that I wanted to go back to a previous dream to interact with a dream character. I say my magic door mantra again, then turn around and try to describe the scene I'm wanting to enter. I open the door and although it looks nothing like I wanted, I go through anyway. During this point I feel myself waking up. Everything starts to get blurry and fuzzy and I'm no longer in control. I wake up in a very groggy state and lie still, I continue to think of what I was just doing in my dream. There's bright flashes of light behind my eyelids, and I can feel my eyes quivering, but I'm not moving them. The dream starts to reform, and I wake up in my room. I get up slowly and do a reality check, my thumb goes through again! Super happy I get back up out of my bed and go to my room door. I try describing the dream I wanted to enter again. This time when I open it it looks kind of like what I wanted, I go through anyway. I meet this girl and ask her if she can help me find the dream I'm wanting to enter, because no matter what I do I can't get it right. While conversing with her I remember one of the Tasks of The Month and ask her her middle name. She looks shy and tells me she can't tell me. I say "oh come on, I'll tell you mine first if you want." She then says okay and tells me hers anyway. Unfortunately I don't remember it exactly, it was a very unique middle name and I asked her if I could borrow a pen to write it down on my hand XP I also remember "Oh yeah! Let's see if she's wearing green." I look her over and unfortunately she's wearing a green skirt with little white patterns. During this I'm constantly doing RC's and telling myself that I am dreaming. At one point while looking at my hands I had 6 fingers on one hand, then another time I had 3 on the other. I tell myself it's normal and try not to freak out. She directs me to a door and tells me it's the dream I'm wanting. I go through. During this point I'm looking for the dream character, and one steps out of the darkness of the dream. He looks kind of what I remember, but kind of not. I ask who he is, and he goes kind of violent and crazy and starts tossing swords and knives at me. I become too scared to remain lucid and lost my lucidity, allowing the dream to continue on as a ND and warp into something completely different from what I was wanting.

This was definitely a lucid dream, and a very good one for a first lucid. Congrats!

The clues that this was a real lucid: " I am jolted with a thought "Wait, I can only fly in my dreams, I'm dreaming!" In this instant I feel very weird, like I'm in some alien place. I don't feel like I normally do inside my dreams. It's not totally uncomfortable, but for a moment or two I feel uncomfortably aware." This jolting and uncomfortable awareness, definitely would not happen if it were just a dream about being lucid.

Also, congratulations on not missing the false awakening, and doing the task of the month all in your first lucid dream.

See, in my first lucid dream ever, I became aware I was dreaming, so I tried to do a somersault in the air, but woke up from excitement in the middle of that. The end. So, you see compared to that your first lucid is awesome. Although, my first lucid was followed by a day during which my adrenaline level was higher than normal and I was just a bundle of joy all day long, so even my first lucid was pretty awesome to me.

      Congratulations again.

That's great! I'm really excited. What seems so silly is I had completely dropped my lucidity training for a week.

yup, often times when you relax a bit, and sort of just let your mind chill out, the lucids start pouring in and since we've established it was indeed a lucid (congrats) I would like to say that this is very good for your first one. I can tell you knew exactly what to do.

What a cool first lucid Mine was just boring, I was just getting used to the fact that I was dreaming but like awake. In my next one (hopefully, because I've kind of stopped doing RC's) I want to do more stuff like that

Thank you all for your replies. I'm excited for my second lucid now. If it makes a difference, while going to sleep I was imagining what I'd want to do when I first became lucid. I daydreamed about it for maybe 20 minutes.

During my dreaming I got woken up twice from the downstairs TV. I could hear it going in my dream, and hearing it made me think of my waking body, which yanked me out of my dream once or twice, but thankfully I was able to get back to sleep. What confuses me about the dream though is while I was trying to interact with a certain dream character from a past dream, he went into a crazy rage and started tossing me around the moment I asked who he was. And, like I had mentioned, was throwing swords and stuff at me! In the end (didn't mention it in the dream, just remembered it now) I grabbed a heavy bludgeon/cane he had thrown at me and beat him until he wasn't moving, but when I was finished and looked at the body, it was just his empty clothes and hat. Why would this dream character try so hard to not allow me to interact with it and ask it questions you think?

Sometimes dream characters are like that. Perhaps some part of your subconscious just needed to work off some steam?

Possibly. Next time I think I'll focus on something else and I'll come back to that DC later.
