      First lucid dream!

Hey guys, new poster here! Loving some of the ideas I'm getting from you guys though!

So I've been really interested in Lucid Dreaming for a while now but have been too lazy to do anything about it but yesterday I thought I might as well give it a shot.

So last night I spent a good few hours right before bed just reading about it, doing some reality checks (plugging nose and finger through Palm) and just kept saying to myself I was going to lucid dream tonight and yeah then I was off to bed.

So I then had a DILD which I thought was pretty amazing being only my first day and some other people have to wait ages for it.

I think the reading right before bed really helped because how it happened in the dream was I switched on a light and it didn't turn on the light which then must have triggered that I read that, then next thing I know I did my two reality checks and then I was fully lucid.

It didn't last for too long and I didn't do too many exciting things, I remember spawning a cool machine gun haha and also used the force which freaked out my dad, I also had a really funny conversation with my dad but I've forgotten what he said now.

I also used an app called Dreamz which might have helped, you sit your phone on the bed and then it's supposed to be able to tell when you're in a dream and then say a sentence out loud (are you dreaming, etc) and flash the flashlight. Not sure if this helped though because I don't remember hearing it in the dream, and also bit skeptical because it went off when I was awake once too.

Just wondering if it is possible since I had a lucid dream so quick that I might be one of those lucky fuckers who can do it a bit easier than others, I usually remember dreams fairly well and have had a fair few sleep paralysis moments if that means anything.

Also would love if people could give me some tips on things to read/do to just help better my experience overall, and to increase the probability of me having regular lucids.

      Cheers guys!

Also one more thing, I could tell last night that I was waking up, I don't know if that usually happens or not but when you wake up is the best thing to do just lie still with your eyes closed, would that bring the possibility of going straight back into another one? Or should I just write in my DJ straight away?

Congratz Work in the stabilization to have longer dreams, and by the way you seem to have facility with dream control if you spawned a machine gun and used the force in your first LD. Good luck

Yes, it's called DEILD (Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream). That depends on your dream recall, because you can easily forget your past dream after DEILDing into another

Thanks mate, yeah I read a few tutorials on stabilization last night, definitely something I want to work on.

No Lucid dreams last night, and couldn't even recall any of my dreams by morning so I'll try to work on dream recall too!

Any suggestions to which techniques I should try to perfect to have regular LDs, and what's a realistic amount of LDs in a week? Think I'm expecting a bit too much haha.

      Thanks again.

The way I was previously attaining consistent Lucid Dreams was through the WILD Technique, it puts you in control rather then your dream self realising its a dream. If you want to learn more about WILDs you don't have to look far Sageous has an awesome thread about everything WILD and for any other questions you may have I'd be more then happy to help you out!

Also, well done on the LD can't believe you got it on your first try, it took me forever to get my first lucid. Also cool to see your dream control levels are pretty high. Congratulations!

      You're welcome

You should try all the most popular techniques and see the ones that suit you. At least try WILD, DILD, MILD and WBTD but don't be afraid to try other techniques. I suggest that you read about SSILD too, the only thing about SSILD is that there's a chance of having an OBE (Out of Body Experience) which some people likes and others don't. But if you feel that having an OBE wouldn't be a problem then you should definitely give SSILD a try.

The amount of LDs in a week really depends on your facility in getting lucid and how much effort you put into it. For example WILDing takes a lot of effort but if you do it until the end successfully you will have a lucid dream every time
