      Can the conscious brain sort of "sync" with a dream while also not knowing your dreaming?

      The title is my main question but I'm also wondering if dreams that take things to majestic proportions common or are they far more common in people with artistic capabilities. I'm a pretty artistic person and my dreams often turn places I previously seen into one massive and majestic structure. Some examples are a zoo bird houses walls were made out of pure gold and was a massive room full of exotic birds many of them which didn't really exist. A movie theater as big as a stadium carpeted with silky royal looking red carpeting. And just this morning doing the laundry becoming a massive water park ride fitting millions maybe billions of clothes at once. This morning I went lucid for short time when the dream scenario became nothing but 9 two dimensional blocks stacked together with faces on them lighting up like at a casino. At that point I knew I was dreaming as the blocks were taking turns lighting up then the dream ended and I woke up into sleep paralysis in which I felt myself spinning around side ways while hovering over my bed. After a while of sleep paralysis I fell back into the dream world but I did not take sleep paralysis seriously enough to use it to enter the dream unfortunately so I wasn't lucid. However it was a extremely vivid dream this was the one I previously mentioned took doing the laundry to majestic proportions. I spent sometime going through the different stages until it ended with them being dropped in a 7 foot pool which I was dropped in with the clothes. I got out and left outside to the other parts of the amusement park. I then without seeming to know I was dreaming my conscious mind seemed to kick in and recognize that this place was Disney world. "My amusement park dreams are usually based off of Disney world". I then became annoyed that I was still forgetting to visit the park. I began repeatedly yelling the name of that park which ended up destabilizing the dream and I woke up. While I am capable of lucid dreams I do not always do it I was wondering if that's known to be possible something in the dream triggering your conscious mind to recognize it and begin interacting with it in some way without actually realizing your dreaming?

      To kind of answer, I will try to define some things first;

      Dream:
      a dream is a series of thoughts, images and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep.

      Conscious:
      awareness of, and response to, one's surroundings.

      Self Awareness:
      conscious knowledge of one's own character, feelings, motives, and desires.

      Basically, in a dream you are often conscious, because you react to your surroundings (e.g falling into the pool, you react by getting out etc.) However
      you are not often self aware. Self awareness is the key to becoming lucid, but sometimes you can be self aware, and still not realize you are dreaming (tough right?)
      So if you worded your question slightly differently, it would read as: are conscious dreams possible? yes they are! because in a dream you are conscious, but unaware you are dreaming.

      To answer your second question about the proportions of your dream scenes, I would say that most aspects of dreams are based on your
      expectations, for example, you know that a flame is hot, so if you touched one in a dream you would expect to feel pain. As with your dream scenes, if two or three of your dream scenes were huge, then you may expect all of them to be huge. This is useful to you though, as it is likely to be one of your dream signs. So now you know that if you are in a gigantic room of some sort, you are likely to be dreaming (remember to RC first as well though)

      Hope that helps, PM me if you need me to try explain something more clearly!
