So last night, I became lucid--partially.

After surviving a plane crash, I realized there was something quite strange going on in the world, and so I tested myself and discovered I was in a dream. However, a lot of the time I find even when I'm lucid my dream will resist me, and this time it resisted lucidity in the weirdest way yet. Whenever I gain lucidity, I make it a point to disturb everyone around me to solidify the dream, and so I tried to pull a nearby girl's necklace off. However, she quickly stopped me by manipulating the dream environment and explained to me that the necklace represented that she was a "Dream Shifter," I was one too, and we were part of an underground society of lucid dreamers existing and moving fluidly throughout one another's dreams. This became a focal point of the rest of my dream, and I remember running into a lot of other Dream Shifters.

I can experience a lot as a barrier to lucid dreaming, but rarely has lucidity itself become a part of the dream fantasy. Nevertheless, I find the concept interesting. Has anyone else ever run into a similar underground society of lucid dreamers in their travels? Did I accidentally stumble upon astral projection?
