      Question Practicing in dreams?

So, I've heard a lot about people practicing stuff in their dreams, and advanced from it in real life.
I'd like to learn to play a song on the piano. I'm a noob when it comes to playing instruments, and I don't know the nodes, but I do listen a lot to the song. Would it be possible to learn to play it?

This is interesting, I would love to know too, because never actually tried to learn something in dreams.

Studies show that in dreams you very well can establish muscle memory. So it's like practicing for real, but I don't think it'll be any better than actually training piano in waking life, if not worse since some keys might play wrong notes.

Still, it might be an interesting and surprising experience playing a piano in a LD!

I play the piano for 12 years now and I think that its possible! I think you should maybe play all tones to memorize them good and learn some theoretical stuff about it!
I think (especially memorizing how each of the tones sound) could help creating a realistic image of the piano and prevent that some notes may sound wrong
Let me know if you make some progress!

Before practicing anything in your dreams, I think you'll definitively need to learn some theory in your WL first, otherwise your brain won't have enough information to put it on the dream and you most probably will lose precious dream time doing things without sense, like playing the high notes on the left side or ignoring the semitones, etc. On the other hand, apparently you'll need to have a good frequency of lucid dreams or at least have a good dream incubation system to put all those things together in your dreams. And talking about dream incubation, what would be better than focusing on the subject during your waking life?
As Louai said, apparently it's possible to reinforce neural connections in your dreams, but I don't think it would be possible to create them out of nowhere. One thing is knowing a song, other thing is playing it on an instrument I think.
I don't know, as everybody is different and different things work for different persons, perhaps it works different for you, it doesn't harm to give it at try anyway.
      Good luck and nice dreams!

      Edit:

You should check out Dr. Daniel Erlacher's PHD-Thesis Motorisches Lernen im luziden Traum, unfortunately only available in German Language. This thesis won the award of junior scientist by the German society of sports medicine.
In Germany research is still going on about practicing motoric tasks in lucid dreams like playing dart the night before lucid dreaming in a sleep lab. And of course playing dart the day after the lucid dream. You may search google for Tadas Stumbrys, Melanie Schädlich and Daniel Erlacher.
