This sensory deprivation studio, is it a dark room with sound absorbing walls? |

I work at a sensory deprivation studio (floatation studio) and have had the unique opportunity over the past year to float as much as I want (probably somewhere between 100 and 200 hours). I've heard before that floating can help with lucid dreaming, and I have found quite a bit of success with applying my practices in the tank. Though I haven't yet had a LD in the tank, floating preps me for the night ahead in my own bed. The hypnagogic imagery that occurs while floating is very similar to what I've experienced while trying to induce a WILD, and if I spend my time focusing my intention on my awareness or a certain dream symbol, I'm certain that I can increase the frequency of the LD's I have. |

Wow that's awesome! I have not floated, but I am jealous of the opportunity. I recently got a sparked interest in the comparisons between LD and sensory deprivation, but I wish I knew more. If anyone knows anything about sensory deprivation, please post here! |

I would highly recommend giving floating a try. I understand it is not the cheapest thing...yet... but a single session changed my life. I live in Seattle, Washington USA and we charge $39 for your first 60 minute session in the tank. Apart from the lucid dreaming aid, I have exponentially been learning more about myself, since an hour in sensory deprivation is the most introspective thing I've ever done. The amount of personal growth in the 10 months I've been floating has been astounding. |

As far as sensory deprivation goes, I am a wealth of knowledge, as I need to know a whole lot of information about the experience to put people at ease before their sessions. |
