      Recall

I started lucid dreaming about 3 days ago and unexpectedly my recall has dropped a lot. Before I started I could usually recall 1-2 dreams anight, but now I haven't recalled any in the last 3 days of attempting to become lucid. I'm starting a dream journal tomorrow weather or not I have anything to repot, so hopefully that helps. I'm just wondering what may be causing this to happen, and will I get my recall back?

Ah, don't worry. My Dream Memory is worst than most beginners...
I haven't wrote in a dream journal for ages, of course, but I only remember a couple of dreams every two months?
I had a lucid dream the other night though, and luckily before it turned lucid I was stabbed by some dude by a school in the middle of a snowy wood...

      Don't worry, it'll come back.

I don't know what it may be but I have a suggestion on what to do. When you wake up, write down at least 3 words that represent the main ideas of your dream. Most of us (I suppose) are very drowsy when we wake up at night and find it hard to write down a full dream, so this way you only write a couple of words. When morning arrives you will be awake enough to write down the full dream by reading the few main ideas which will make you remind the dream. Example: If you dreamed about a dragon chasing you on the street, you would write "Dragon, chase, street". This makes me remember from 2-3 dreams per day without much effort. Hope it helps.

Ok Alien I will try this if I can remember a dream when I wake. Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you sure ur recall has dropped. Isn't it so that you maybe stopped dreaming ur usual bullshit dreams.

Ime, lucid dreams are easier to recall than other dreams. Something about the focus makes it so these memories are more vivid. I can write multiple pages whenever I have a lucid dreams. And usually end up writing 3 or 4 keywords to actually remind me of regular dreams. I can recall so much more detail in LDs it's amazing.

My take on this all is that you have learned to lucid dream and stoppped having ur regular 2-3 dreams a week that are 99% pointless activities. I expect you will have more lucid dreams and a better storyline in the future.
