      I had an OBLD??

I was going to sleep last night and under the influence of alcohol so my chances were quiet low.Recently iv noticed when i go to sleep i am getting all the signs that im falling asleep when i dont actually feel tired but i know all the signs. It started where i saw lots of colours and shapes with my eyes closed and sooner or later i felt paraylisis so i decided to get out of bed whilst in paraylisis and it worked so i was officially out of my body.Weird that was that i was struggling to open my eyes....when i finally opened them i must of flew out my window then landed on my stomach which meant i couldnt fly.I can chat and talk to people and stuff so to sum up...it felt like a normal lucid dream but i entered it by doing an OBE? Iv nevrr had an OBE before so maybe it was one im not sure....to me it felt the same as a lucid dream?

Hi, unless you have spiritual beliefs such as astral projection etc then I cant help. I myself am not religious and believe that an OBE is simply a lucid dream that has started in the bedroom. I have had 10 of these OBE and they always happen when WILDing. I believe that if a WILD attempt is made without using visualization (maybe you simply count or concentrate on breath) then the mind has not had a chance to create a dream scene when it falls asleep and so it uses the last scene it had - the bedroom.

Once you get up out of bed, you are simply having a lucid dream. If you look back at your bed you may even see your sleeping self and this is why people think that it is a real out-of-body experience. I simply believe that it is all a dream - a lucid dream. Every time ive got out of bed and done a nose plug and realize im dreaming, i simply throw myself through the window and start flying round the streets.

So to answer your question - an OBE is simply another way of entering a lucid dream (in my opinion)

      Hope this helps

Next time you're unsure, try asking. Shout the question out and see if you get a response. Or shut out your sense perceptions, go within in a meditative state and pose the question. The answer may very well come. Or demand that all dream elements disappear from your perception and see what happens.

I myself am not religious or maybe at most im agnostic but from what you said and what i have thought today i think iv come to the conclusion that yes infact i think i had my like 2nd or 3rd wild. All my LDs are dream induced but lately i find my body falling asleep while i myself am not tired which is what iv always wanted....iv changed the way i sleep lately and im waking early and staying awake till like 2-3 in the morning which is causing my mind to stay active but for my body to give up and pass out.thanks to you and vince for the advice and im defo looking forward to more wilds =)

Personal perspective, the only difference between a lucid dream and an OBE is the degree of awareness. Most true WILDs, if a high degree of lucidity is attained, is just another name for an OBE. All non-physical reality experiences are part of the same continuum. The only thing separating one from the other is the degree of awareness. All dreams, in other words, are OBEs because they are events in the NPR. And i don't necessarily mean that you are truly out of body, in the physical sense. I use the term OBE simply as a known indicator that i am talking about the highest level of NPR awareness. Good job whatever you wish to call the experience.
