It's just like interacting with people and things in waking life, except they are often are more random in dreams. Also, everything can potentially talk in dreams.

Have you ever interacted with anything or anybody in a dream before? If so, it's just like that.

I always been fascinated by dream characters in my dreams(lucid). They are so independent, they always do something unexpected(which requires a logic or reasoning).

I find a lot of them have been reflections of myself.Although a good number of them seem to have a will of their own.

I haven't found any really interesting ones to be honest yet.

Most of them ,if not all are a reflection of yourself.A behaviour of yours if you pay attention of how they act. It's really interesting.

I've fought bad DCs, I've had sex with some women, and I've been deeply in love and been loved by others. I had a "grandfather" figure who loved me with unconditional love that was beyond anything I have experienced in life. And some ignore you as well. It runs the gambit much like real life but "larger than life" in a lot of ways.

I find mine are hard to convince of anything, tell them its a dream and they won't believe me. Some are susceptible to mind control. Mostly once I am lucid and am looking for them, they tend to all be in the category I am thinking of; "Brunette World" comes to mind as representative of this. But for me in the end they are all just mostly walking by and ignoring me or even retreating from me. I have even had the experience of being dream heckled in a lucid dream, where I was commanding one DC and another DC was countermanding my orders, It was a total outrage, but I just turned away so the heckler was not in view and ceased to exist.

Maybe in my next convince the DC type goal for a lucid dream, I should face a group of DC and try to convince them that just because we are in a dream doesn't mean that gravity isn't required to act on them. No doubt they will all start floating around the sky mocking me and saying I'm full of s...
Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

It varies quite a bit for me. Some of them seem like mindless objects, and some are like talking with real people. Sometimes when I tell them this is a dream they either don't believe it or don't seem to understand what I'm saying. Other times they agree, or already know they're part of a dream.
I really like meeting people in my lucid dreams who seem to have a mind and personality of their own.
      It's all in your head.

Do many of them appear to have a mind of their own?

For me, many or most of the people I interact with in lucid dreams don't seem to have a mind or personality of their own. But yeah, many do, to varying degrees. Maybe in roughly half of my lucid dreams lately I have met someone who is like a real person. It probably depends on my own level of lucidity.

Have you ever made a fictional character appear? If so, how was it?

I met my my own character a couple of times a few years ago. It was fun, but unfortunately I've had trouble meeting the character again.

      there are several ways,
supposedly the most effective is the behind the back summon
you reach back your hand as say something like come catch up we'll be late (insert name somewhere in sentence)
and then you feel them take your hand you then turn expecting it is them

(I have only had the prospective memory to try this like twice, in one case I was convinced that if I stopped rubbing my hands together I would destabilize, I was also fighting a dreamscape that was trying to earth bend into a hamster wheel trapping me, when I finally unearth bent the dreamscape and escaped thru a side door and thought I was stable when I separated my hands to reach behind my back I did destabilize, the other time was during a contest when this was my highest priority, and I thought to do it immediately, after many attempts I attempted direct summonation and then the door method below)

Direct summonation would be fairly difficult but you just paint them into existence or make them appear before you out of shear will, a slight modification indirect summontation you wave your hand in front of some other DC and the one you saw disappears and the one you want appears.

Door sumonation this is the typical method, you find a door and you think of the person and their stuff being behind the door, you open the door if they are there great, if not but there stuff is there maybe they are near by (alternate version you walk around a corner expecting them)

Finally a more direct approach, you pocket summon your phone (equipped with SIRI or what ever) hey SIRI call so-and-so. "Dude where the F are ya, I'm down by the bend in the river meet me here in like 30 seconds" Then they pop up out of the river or hop down from a tree etc.
(some people swear by this indirect summonation, they might even have a phone app that locates the person with a pointing arrow and head right for them)

Some people are good at teleportation, and teleport to some where the person is likely to be like their old school, or their sorority house etc.

in the end its whatever works for you.

I've always found that as long as whatever I'm trying to make appear is out of sight it will work. So I'll be like. When I go around this corner x will be there.

Making something appear in front of me sounds interesting. I think it would require a higher level of lucidity.
