I've been having great success with MILD. I'd say I average about 5 minutes each and get one most nights. The problem is getting the level of control I want. |

Concerning your level of lucidity, it's always preferable to use those first moments of lucidity to accentuate it; you can remind yourself that this is a dream, take note of the environment that surrounds you and acknowledge it for what it is, a dream. |

Maybe you are too tense in your LD's, if you try to control things by thinking about them, it is no good; To control things you have to expect the thing to happen, expectation is performed from relaxation, you have to think of it only once and it echoes through your subconsciousness to your dream world. One strong expectation is what you need, with many you just confuse yourself. Take flying for example, one of the first things you should learn in LD'ing*, it can take time to master it, I for one had to suffer many times crashing to walls and falling off cliffs before beginning to trust I can do this everytime. I would suggest you on picking one thing you want to learn and trying to master that one thing as well as you can. Expect to fly and you will, think about you flying and you won't! |

Oddly the first time I tried it I had to hold myself back because I was flying to high. |

I suggest it's best to experiment with control as a means to an end, rather than an end in itself. Okay, you want to fly. But fly to where? If you set your intention as a plan to fly to the moon, then flying becomes just the means to another end. You're thinking about the moon and you just have to get there. You can ponder and experiment with it a bit. Is it a rocket? Wings? A jetpack? A warp drive? Any choice is valid. Nonetheless, there's a goal beyond the dream control, so you are looking toward the next thing. |

I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
