Looks around you, what do you see, hear, feel. Listen to your thoughts, if you make a habit of taking note of the little things you will do the same in a dream.

Hi Lalex Welcome to Dream Views! Yes taking interest in your dreams and keeping a DJ will help a lot too - the more we think about it as a truly important thing ( to remember our dreams more and more ) the more it will happen

Good luck and see you around

Hi Lalex, here are a few tips that work well for me.
First, when you wake up, keep very still and keep your eyes closed. Then, try to go back over the dream and piece it together. Don't try and force it, but try to keep remembering what went before in steps. Then, when you have it, play the dream back in your mind. Then repeat this a few times so that it sticks better in your memory.

It's a good idea to write your dream down as soon as you have done this, even if it is in the middle of the night. I don't do that, but I do the trick of replaying it so that in the morning I can remember the dreams I have had.
Doing this it is not difficult to remember four reasonable dreams a night.

      Good luck!

If you cultivate a lifestyle of paying close, purposeful attention to all your experiences, and practice recalling them later (before bed, recall your waking day experiences, and in the morning, recall the night's dreaming experiences), and make remembering these experiences very important to you, over time your dream recall (and waking recall!) will really grow.

I'm happy to see someone who is more focused on improving their recall as opposed to immediately getting frustrated at not having lucid dreams.

I have found that lucid dreams come naturally from increased awareness. That, in turn, will massive increase your recall. Think about how often you just go by your day to day life without paying attention to things and you'll see how similar that is to your dream self. Most of us don't inherently question or pay attention in dreams, and instilling a habit of realising and taking in what is happening around you will hugely increase your recall, and in my opinion is the most effective method to do so.

One thing I have started noticing with myself is that I have worse recall when I feel pressured or stressed about my recall. In previous lucid dreaming attempts, or attempts to keep a dream journal, I would freak out and get angry whenever I didn't remember something from a night. I now know that is going to happen, and I treat them as learning experiences. I think about how maybe my quality/timing etc of sleep impacted that. I always write down something in my DJ each night, even if I don't remember anything, to keep that habit going forward.

Stay stress free and aware my friend!
