      Can't fly

      Hi everyone,

It has now been 5 months that I am into lucid dreaming and trying to progress. By that time I have been able too do a bit more than 25 LD but in most of them I am not able to fly at all. I would really want to fly and has I cannot manage to do it I think I start expecting less and less of me to fly so that it might be getting worse. Does anyone had the same problem and come up with a good solution?

      thanks to all

I had similar problem until I used command "Lighter, Lighter" as if I was losing weight and become Light like a balloon!

Did you ever try just jumping into a prone position and going, or did your doubt hold you back? Just go for it. After all it is a dream...you wont get hurt.

One of the most important things to remember is that gravity doesn't apply in your dream. Realize that you're not bound by that physical law anymore. I just had an idea : Maybe you could throw an object, lets say a Frisbee, with the intention that it will fly on and on because there is nothing pulling it down. Then after it has soared away, take a run, jump and just keep gliding forward endlessly like it did Check out Mancon's tutorial And maybe you'll find some inspiration from my description of How It Feels Like to Fly for the First Time

What dream control tricks and schemas have you used to try flying? If you're trying to fly the same way every time, maybe you will have more success if you do it a different way. Three ways of flying in dreams other than just jumping into the air that I've used successfully are 1) growing wings, 2) summoning a jetpack, and 3) telling myself that I was wearing rocket boots.

If there is a task that you want to do, that is not possible in your waking state, you may find it difficult to accomplish in the dream state.
Even though you are in a realm with no laws, there are still many limitations that are self imposed.
It is your logical side that imposes these restrictions.
The trick is to convince yourself that flight is possible.
Try putting on a jet pack. - These exist in reality, and your mind will have more chance of accepting them.
A hang glider will also produce the desired outcome.
Bit of a stretch, but try putting on an Iron Man suit, and go for a flight test.
Pretend to be a bird, and flap your wings.
Once flight has been accomplished a few times, you should overcome your problem.
      Have fun.

Your absolute biggest problem is that you don't expect it will happen (and you probably already knew that!). I second everything everyone else has already said--you need to find a new way to fly. Jet packs and rocket boots are both good ways to do it; I've also flown on a witch's broom before.

How is the gravity in your dream? In my dreams when I jump I can always jump higher then real life. You might want to try something simple like jumping higher and higher. You also could try to jump and stay in the air as long as possible before making back to the ground. You could also try flapping your arms as if they were wings in a dream or fling like supermen does. It might be easier trying a flying style that you have seen or that you think might work.

[] Create device that will make me instantly lucid.

The best way is definitely by imagining them being behind a corner Or behind a door or just behind your back. Knowing that they will be there and visualizing what they could look like beforehand does the trick.
