Experience with android alarm for ld's

      Hi,
I've been using an alarm app for android named "alarm droid" every Fri-Sun to practice lucid dreaming. Most of the time only once per week I awaken. I usually set the alarm 4 to 5 hours after I go to sleep.

Can anyone tell me if I'm better of setting it to three to four hours after I go to sleep?

Also tonight I'm going to try to put my phone under my pillow on 100% volume to see if it'll awaken me during the night.

Also I'm setting it every half an hour to wake me up.

      Thanks.

Have you tried the water method? Drink enough water before bed to give you the urge to get up part way through the night to pee. It normally gets me at the end of a cycle usually after 3 cycles, about 4.5 hours in. It is less likely that you will roll over and shut off the alarm and also less disturbance of your natural sleep cycles with an alarm potentially waking up in the middle of one. The water method seems to primarily get your attention as you are finishing a cycle at the end of one of your REM segments when we often naturally have a mini-awakening and roll over/adjust sleep position (most people don't notice these periods).

I've done this method before, but a lot of the time I go on myself.

I think the reason my alarm wouldn't wake me up is because either my phone shut off. And / or the alarm was set up not to ring when I laid the phone on the screen.

I already mentioned the program (alarm) I use you or anyone can tell me their experience with it.
