      Possible Dream Control Method?

So before you read this, I have never achieve lucidity as of yet. I am determined to achieve such a feat, however.

A few days ago, I came across a music video, one most of you may have seen before. A music video for a song called 'Shelter'.

The video revolves around a 17-year old girl who is trapped in a virtual world that she has full control over. She controls this world using a tablet, where she can draw scenes that will evolve and grow around her on the screen.

I was wondering if anyone could try this out and see if it works in lucid dreams? I understand that this method may not even work for me, but I was more interested in the fact of if it worked for anyone at all. It seems like a very interesting way to control your dreams and the lucid world around you.

Please respond if you attempt this method!

Should work. as I understand, control is mental. If you expect, and whole heartily believe the tablet will control your dreamscape,it will work. On the other hand,I've had weird experiences with a pc in a dream. Basically,I wanted to use my pc in my room(in the dream),and I typed Google, and the page just hung, but I assume that's because I didn't imagine, the page loading, etc, not the most experienced,so I don't know for sure.

Oh yeah, that would definitely work in a lucid. I think you might be thinking too narrowly about dream control - you can pretty much use anything to control anything in a dream. Ultimately, it all comes down to expectation - if you expect it to work, it will. So if you expect that tablet you're holding to be able to make drawings become reality, you can do it. If you expect that eating a magic carrot will give you the power of flight and laser vision, it will. There's really no limit to what you can do with your imagination, hence why lucid dreaming is so awesome.

Anyway, I'm surprised Sensei hasn't replied here - he uses a similar method sometimes, with a "HUD" that he uses to control different aspects of the dream. I've even used Siri once or twice to control the dream, sometimes with interesting results (but I'm more of an Android guy anyway ).

Lmao. I was actually curious about if the HUD idea would work myself, but Siri would also be interesting.

      Don't worry spellbee2! I am here! :P
Yes! I have a HUD that I bring up at times to help me control the dream. I wish it would be there all the time, but I have yet to achieve this. Here are some other cool things I have done.

When opening a menu (imagine Sword Art Online menu here) I changed the "skin" to different seeds and this changed the overlay on everything. I could put a random assortment and I would see a random overlay over the dream world, or I could type something specific in, like a word or something. I wasn't able to change too much since it only lasted like 10 minutes and I wanted to spend time in each skin.

I found a dark opening to a cave (think of a video game loading blackness opening) that had a computer right next to the opening. in green, on the computer I see:
      C/:>_
^^ This is not a smiling gnome ^^
      I type in
      C/:>FANTASY_
I step through the darkness (with a few DCs) and I see an entire fantasy land on the other side, complete with a little village in a pretty landscape with structures in the mountains that don't make sense, a hilly area with chocobos and a forest nearby, anything I could have asked for. Of course, I had just found something more fun than Fantasy land. I looked nearby and saw that there were openings with computers. I sent the DCs to the other ones and decided to see what else I could type in.

Basically after this I typed in all sorts of insane things for quite a while, and it wasn't restricted to one word, I could type in a huge paragraph (or maybe more) and get exactly what I could ask for. I was a little ticked off that I couldn't remember any goals, so I just had fun with it and followed my DCs after about 30 minutes into their choices. Quite a fun dream. :P I need to go back there.

I'll have to experiment with technology in my future LDs,seems like a lot of fun.

I love using technology as a catalyst for dream control. If you have a machine that does everything for you, it can be done without using much intent, expectation, willpower, etc.

As spellbee2 mentions, “tools” and concepts like the touchscreen, or any other things, can be helpful with dream control, especially if they make a good fit for your personal mental dream schema. But, if you have a strong enough sense of lucidity and mindset, it should be possible, I think, to control the dream merely by willing it, without needing any such things at all. So keep an open mind, and try many things, including just a simple thought of “Let's make such-and-such happen.” Try not to get stuck into only a single idea or two of what is needed for dream control, or you may actually limit yourself.
