Lucid thoughts in a non-lucid dream?

It's annoying how my default browser Firefox won't let me post new threads, so I've jumped on to Chrome for this. Anyway, to the question now: There were some occurrences in my dream last night that when I woke up, I questioned. During my search for Dreamy WB (my dream guide), I was visualising this concept that she could possibly be behind an object and eventually come out from it. This was a concept that I had seen on someone's YouTube video in waking life a few weeks ago and it was a lucid dreaming channel. To summarise this, it felt like I was having lucid thoughts in a non-lucid dream. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It's "The Hairdressing Scam" dream in my DJ.

Sure, you can have, what I call "lucid elements" in a non lucid dream. It can happen when you about to turn lucid, but it just doesn't click. The realization doesn't happen and you are stuck in a non lucid, with almost lucid thoughts.

It can also happen when in waking life you are thinking about being lucid a lot. It starts showing up in your non lucids.

Do you mean that you were thinking and maybe even behaving as though your dream were waking reality? I like those dreams usually. My dreams are usually bizarre and very nonsensical/incoherent. Normally I just remember them upon waking up or feel a vague presence in the dream but I'm otherwise totally on autopilot.

Dreams with the type of thinking you're talking about are usually still pretty crazy, but they're coherent enough for their to be a structural narrative, I feel like I'm actually there and doing things/thinking and making decisions, and they're typically very vivid, long lasting, and highly stable.

Yeah, your idea makes sense when I think about it. I always think of lucidity as being awake in a dream... So it's like I was unintentionally awake. I guess if I still was in the nonsense dreaming mode, I may have just chosen to go down the ramp as soon as it became available. But instead, thoughts like how I think in real life school mapped that although the ramp was available, I was still going to give my dream guide a "prod" as it were, just for fun. The key phrase there is "just for fun". So yeah, what a cool insight.

Happened to me, then I had a false awakening in the same dream and got upset about it.
