Just start writing again, every morning. Even if you don't remember anything, write something along the lines of "I had no recollection." Also, don't forget the reality checks.

Nonetheless, I wouldn't worry to much about sleep patterns to much. Placebo and what not. Yeah, it sucks but I'm in that same boat. You still dream though, and in my opinion it's mostly mind over matter.

Melatonin from my understanding and recollection is a hormone in which the less you take, the better your recollection. There's a few other Oneirogens you can take such as, 5HTP, Valerian Root, Saint Johns Wort, as well as Calea Z, which is the nastiest tea you could drink but it's fairly worth it, not approved by FDA and what not though.

There's ways though, like I said set your alarm 15 minutes earlier, and just start writing from nothing or even go the route of dream incubating for writing practice and give you something to think about and induce with, I found the r/worldbuilding subbreddit extremely useful for that. Though, there's hundreds of dreamers journals here to get ideas from as well.

Yeah, may be I'm lacking of motivation and nothing more. Although wouldn't mind taking some chemical help
