      Consciousness falling back to sleep

Is that a normal thing that's happening while lucid? I had a lucid dream this morning, and I was rather acting passive, nothing tried to do because I got heavily dissapointed when I realized it's a dream. The dream started fading away, and I used technique to stabilize it, and it worked flawlessly. But I can't really remember what happened at the end, I believe my conscioussness fell back to sleep and I lost lucidity. Does that happen, or it was something else?

Yeah it's totally normal to lose lucidity. Your mind can drift off and you just kinda lose yourself back into the dream.

You can combat this by doing regular reality checks and stabilization techniques while in the dream. Also watch that you don't get over excited. Keep yourself calm and aware.

in my opinion it is harder to stay lucid with no goals. you go with the flow and suddenly you feel that it is very important that you get this small kitten into the blue train you dont know why but it is important like hell and suddenly you are so much into your "task" that you get lost in the dream again aka non lucid. if you have a goal that you want accomplish you will stay more focused and therefore you dont loose lucidity.

sometimes it is fun to just go with the flow and see what happens but most of the time i prefer to have a goal what i want accomplish.

Interesting, because having a goal, or better yet a nested set of goals, is what keeps you on track in waking life as well. Otherwise its too easy to get caught up in the minutia or side-tracked and end up accomplishing nothing and getting nowhere.

Tip: Try not to go on 'autopilot'; going with the flow without question. Take note of and consider every action you take. This helps to maintain your awareness and to keep you questioning things.
